You know, I actually ran in a convoy with them once. There were doing a show somewhere on the west coast (can't remeber where, it's been a long time), and us Mayflower drivers hauled extra rigging. Now, most tour bus convoys, the buses will run on, cuz the truckers have to keep a log book and have to shut down after a certain amount of time. But Steve Perry would keep his bus with us truckers. I dunno why for sure. Of course, he'd stay in a motel while us riggers slept in the truck, but he was still cool. One of the nicest pro singers I ever met.

I got to see him perform this in practice. It was cool.

That is very cool that you were able to meet Steve and ride in a convoy with the band!! WOW, what an experience!!

We are huge Journey freaks in our family, even our two boys are into retro and Journey is at the top. We took my now 17 yr old son to see the Journey/REO/Styx concert on his 13th birthday, when they were in Detroit. Talk about an incredible show! A lot of groups tend to actually sound 'old' when they age...not these bands! And it's unreal how much the 'new' lead singer for Journey sounds like Steve Perry. He's great...not Steve, but the next best thing! Probably the neatest thing was that this was 2003, and my son wore his dad's 1983 Journey t-shirt! He got quite the attention at the concert!

Yeah, Journey rocked. It's too bad Steve left though, cuz he was the writing talent behind the band. Now they can sing, but they can't come out with nothing new. Blue
