| I saw this the other day with my parents. I must say, I didn't love it as much as I did the musical "Hairspray" last year, but this was still wonderful! It took me a good 1/3 of the movie to REALLY get into it, but then I was hooked! Meryl Streep is, unsurprisingly, amAzing. EVERYONE is talking about a certain dramatic scene that she does. It's to the song "Winner Takes it All", and the emotion she conveyed blew me away. I couldn't help but cry in the scene. My mom, who cried as well, just looked at me at the end of the song and we both said simultaneously, "WOW". It's worth seeing the movie, honestly, JUST to see this scene! Unreal.
If you like musicals, (and especially if you like ABBA---I grew up on them and just LOVE them), then this musical will not disappoint! _________________

| I haven't seen the movie but I loved Abba growing up. Have you seen any of their music videos? How embarrassing the 70s can seem! _________________

| I'm going to see this movie next weekend. I am a huge ABBA fan, so I'm looking forward to hearing all my favorite songs. _________________

| | This is one for me to wait until its on something like HBO. LOL I have never really been an ABBA fan. I remember my mom listening to them at times but that was it. And since you brought up Hairspray...I didn't care for it. It was ok but I prefer the Ricki Lake version. |

| I read a funny line in a review of Mamma Mia. It said, "Critics never liked ABBA because they lacked depth... which means they didn't act like they were miserable all the time." Ain't that the truth about some critics? "They can't be serious artists... they're... they're... smiling!" |
