So this is like the new "Blair Witch Project" type of movie. People are talking about it saying how scary it is and stuff. My brother's friend was telling him how scared he was.

Well this guy saw it and wrote an explanation of the movie which I think is great I didn't plan on seeing this movie, specially after this guy explained the paranormal activity so well. It contains spoilers so you will have to click on it to read.

Posted by Aaron1469 @ IMDB I think Micha and Katie had the demon all wrong. He wasn't trying to be sinister or mean at all. The movie said that the demon had been around since the 1960's. That would mean he was probably at least in his late fifties. Given his age, it totally makes sense why he was doing everything. The reason he would turn the light on that was near the attic was because that's where the bathroom was. He had to keep going to the bathroom because he has prostate problems. You can also tell he was an old demon because of how slowly he would walk up the stairs. The reason he kept shutting Micha and Katie's bedroom door is because he was trying to be courteous and not wake them when he did have to go to the bathroom late at night. As far as the Ouija board, he was probably just bored and didn't really know what that thing on the board was for which is why he was moving it around, to see if he could figure out what it was. He was also probably a pipe smoker and because he is old, he's also got arthritis which is why he accidentally dropped the invisible match he was using to smoke and unintentionally caught the board on fire. The demon also had the beginning stages of Alzheimer's which is why he would wander into their room late at night, accidentally thinking that it was actually his room. The reason the demon broke the picture of Katie and Micha is because he had to hold on to the wall as he walked to keep his balance due to his old age. Old people have a tendency not to cut their nails which is why the pic also looked like it had a claw mark on it too. And the reason Katie kept feeling the demon breathe on her is because he probably has emphysema from all that smoking and so he had to breathe harder than normal. That's also why he had a low voice, it was a smoker's voice, not a scary voice. As you can see, the demon just had a series of medical problems and was not trying to be evil in any way! If there are any other things the demon did that you want an explanation for, feel free to just ask!

I did see it and though it was scary it wasn't totally terrifying. It was supposedly based on the writer's "experience" something that he had sitting on his desk had fallen off when he said he knew it was placed far enough back that it couldn't.

I admit I did jump at a few scenes but the 4 grown men behind me reacted much worse! It just seemed the male character kept antagonizing things and made it worse. But I do understand it was all "fiction," like you said, Carol, a "Blair Witch Project."
