Sullivan Entertainment, the people who brought us the Anne movies, is looking for charming actresses between the ages of 10 - 12 years to audition for the part of Anne Shirley in a brand new prequel to the original mini-series, written and directed by Emmy award winning film-maker Kevin Sullivan, entitled Anne of Green Gables - A New Beginning.

Your audition must be no more than 2 minutes in length and must depict your best portrayal of Anne through passages from the film or book. Please include your full name at the beginning of the audition.

Darn, I'm way too old. LOL! I can't wait to hear more about this one. Sounds great, but if Lucy Maud Montgomery had wanted us to meet Anne before she lived with the Hammonds then that's how she would have written the story.

Anyway, I'm not sure if I'd like to see a prequel. I mean - this would actually be Ann of Green Gables w/o Green Gables - doesn't sound too good to me. But it might be nice anyway.

I think the whole idea is to imagine where Anne came from before she ended up at Green Gables. How did she become such a character? What happened to send her from home to home and what really happened to her family? I think it is a nice idea. Although it won't be Megan Follows playing Anne, I hope they find someone with her spunk and charm.
I'll be going to the Avonlea Convention on July 29 (a month from today, yahoo) and will let you know about any info that I hear about.

I've got it all figured out. I'm not gonna try out for the part of Anne. Instead I'm gonna try to get them to create a new character for me. I'll play Stanley, a fresh-faced young lad of 46 who blossoms into manhood during one very special summer on Prince Edward Island.

It won't be easy. The men hate me because I'm too handsome. And possibly for a bunch of other reasons. The women can't keep their hands off me, but that's a sacrifice I'm willing to endure.

Because I love working with animals, I get a job grinding mackerals into fishpaste at the local cannery. The women suddenly have no trouble keeping their hands off me. That's the first day. Even more stuff happens on the second.
