Grove - "THE RICHEST MAN OF WALNUT GROVE" Report This is one of those great Little House episodes. I just love the lesson that it teaches. It’s easy to relate to this episode because everyone goes through hard times, sometimes economically and the attitude that Charles displayed was just awesome. He wasn’t too proud like some men would be, not allowing their loved ones to help them, Caroline and the girls, they each helped each other so much that in the end, like Charles said, it couldn’t have been done without them.

Of course this is the episode that has the famous line: “Hard working folks only smell bad to folks who don’t have anything better to do than stick their noses in the air. Well, whenever you stick your nose in the air with me Nellie, it’s gonna get punched!” LOL…. I just loved that scene, Nellie deserved what she got.

I also thought that the scene when the family is eating berries is very touching. They each try to comfort each other, for example saying thing that it didn’t matter that they didn’t have coffee because too much of it wasn’t good, lol.

Here is an interesting thing. I was there on the set when they were doing some behind the scenes shooting and I know that nobody wanted to get close to Jack because of fear of getting bitten. Looks like he was staying in character all the time and was ticked off just a bit at Harriett. Here is a picture I took of him after the scene where the family goes to town to pay their debt at the Mercantile.

I don´t know anyone who doesn´t love this eppy. It´s amazingly sweet. I love the scene in the barn where Laura tells Charles about the things that are being said about him. It´s heartbreaking to watch Laura in that moment.
This episode reminded me in so many ways of A Harvest of Friends...

Definitely one of THE episodes of the whole 9 seasons. And who can forget the scene where Charles tells Caroline the only thing he regrets about being married to her is that he won't have the joy of asking her to be his wife again. :love3:

One of the top episodes no doubt. I think it also has one of the most passionate kisses from the entire series between Charles and Caroline, too. I love when charles runs into Mrs. Oleson and tips his hat to be the gentleman and the look of disgust on her face is hilarious!
