It had an interesting effect. He had been asking me out, and I kept declining.......And, he'd also been asking me to read this book that he really, really loved. So I tried to read the book, but found it terribly booooooooooring. Well, after I told him that I just couldn't get into this book - he never asked me out again! :Hahaha: )

I'd pray, then start looking for whatever I had lost.

(I'm not sure whether it hurt his feelings, or whether he felt that anyone who could dislike the book certainly couldn't be dating material. LOL! At any rate, I *tried* to put it as gently as I could, because I didn't want to be unkind - but he insisted on knowing my opinion, so I gave it as gently as possible.)

I'd call my brother, who lives a block away, and borrow coffee from him. He ALWAYS has coffee on hand.

It would depend on what the fortunes were. If they were full of bad news, I'd have to quit opening them, but if they were full of good, I'd be opening many fortune cookies.
