I'd let my family and friends know what two hours I'd be available by phone - and tell them to e-mail me for anything urgent.

WWYDI you had a deadline, and got terribly sick shortly before the deadline expired......so your project didn't get finished?

i would try to explain my situation to my boss/teacher/or whatever and hope that they would understand.

I'd probably try to hire in. I'd fit right in, in a zoo.

Well, it depends on what I'd have to give up. I'm too practical to say that I'd give up anything. (And it depends on how wonderful the man is, too. )

Oooooh, I'd hope that it was in time for May We Make Them Proud.........and I'd make absolutely SURE that they knew what a stupid thing it was for Mary to put the baby down in the fire! I can make a scene if I have to.
