Lori, Kara will be in my prayers.

Alex, she hasn't given us a lot of details, but I assume they are removing all of her cysts and possibly fixing her flopping tendon over her middle right knuckle. She's hoping this will alleviate the pain she has been having. She has been able to play piano in months.

I just got a call from Kara. She just woke up a few minutes ago. The friend who took her already posted a couple of pictures to Facebook. She has to wear some bulky bandages for a couple of day, but she looks like she is doing well.

Lori, I was just wondering how Kara is doing? Is she fully recovered now?

She goes back to the doctor tomorrow for another follow up. She is doing pretty well. She still can't quite touch her middle fingers to her palms, but while she was home for spring break last week, she couldn't stand it anymore and played piano for church. She really wasn't supposed to play piano until after her appointment tomorrow. She wears a brace on her left hand/wrist which was hopefully to take care of the cysts (or whatever they are in her hand. The doctor wasn't exactly sure what they are which is why he decided not to operate there). The brace has seemed to work. So hopefully after tomorrow she will be able to play flute and piano again so she can get her incompletes made up from last semester.

Aw, that's great! Glad to hear she's on the mend. Sounds like she has quite the passion, too. Thanks for updating.

This girl is amazing...I'm glad she wanted to play piano even if she is not in 100% good condition yet. She is strong and can go ahead. I'm sure that after her medical treatment, Kra wil be okay.

Kara could use some prayer. She is not feeling well due to allergies/sinus trouble, and she has her juries tomorrow for flute. Plus her roommate has been very inconsiderate lately (like blow drying her hair in the room while Kara is trying to sleep) so she is not getting the rest she would like to hopefully make her feel better. She also has finals next week.

Poor thing.....prayers for her.....I just don't understand roommates.....

This time of year is so tough on college kids. I will keep her in prayer.
My son Nathan is dealing with a roommate that is not working out now either. I think after spring break they are just done with school and one another. Finals next week for Nathan too. Ready to have these kids home again huh Lori?

Gin, too bad Nathan and his roomie aren't getting along. That always makes this tough. Praying things will be better for him next year.

Things are looking up. Just got to finish the next few weeks. Nathan's music director and hubby have asked Nathan to live with them next year. They have housed several college kids over the years and so they think Nathan would be a great blend with their family. I talk to the Mom yesterday and she sounds great. They are going to write up a contract that we all agree on and hopefully expectiations are met.
This will save us alot next year. Fingers crossed.

Lori, will Kara be taking any classes over the summer? Nathan has decided not to, he wants to work. His major is mucic/ed. with a minor in youth ministery.

Lori, I hope Kara feels well enough to play! Poor thing. I'll pray that all goes well. Do you think she'll maybe try to get a different roommate next year?

Gin, that sounds like a neat idea....sorry that the roommate isn't working out though. Brendan has been blessed with amazing roomies these past 4 years, but next year he'll have a couple of new ones, which makes me nervous. He's in an apartment with 3 other guys, and 2 of them are graduating this year. (Bren still has 2 more to go...chemical engineering generally takes longer). The apartment complex looks at the questionaire the guys filled out and tries to 'match them up' to someone with similar interests/personalities. I just pray they get someone 'normal' in there, a clean-cut kid---no drugs!!
