Has anyone else been watching Mercy Street on PBS? It is a medical drama set during the Civil War. With a mix of historical and fictional characters, it is based on the true story of two volunteer nurses at the Mansion House Hospital in Union-occupied Alexandria. I love it, but it is on the gory side. You can read more http://www.pbs.org/mercy-street/home/ and I reviewed it at my blog at http://www.thebusymomsdaily.com/2016/02/mercy-street-on-pbs.html if you're interested.

I saw the first episode and it was great! I've been missing it though....might have to just get it on dvd when it comes out. Thumbsup

Almost through the first season....it's getting good!  I wasn't that impressed with the second episode, so thought it might be a 'dud series, but then it picked up again! The story & character development are really coming along.  The acting is getting better as well.  I am really enjoying this!

I think it's only a six-part mini-series. Amazon has the DVD. I ended up buying the book Heroines of Mercy Street to learn more about the women there.
