Opie has been so busy this week! He's given me lots of stories for the children! grinsmiley But tonight, he made me laugh so much......I was making some carmel corn, baking it in the oven......and I was doing some writing at the computer in between stirring the carmel corn. Well, I heard Opie make a little noise that sounded like "Ohhhhh!" as if he'd discovered something really interesting, so I went to see what he was up to. I found him ON the dining room table! As soon as he saw me, he jumped down. So, I went back to writing. A few minutes later, it was time to stir the carmel corn, and as I went to the kitchen, I found a Hansel & Gretel-style trail of cherries on the floor! Huh? I picked them up, wondering how they'd spilled, and went in and stirred the carmel corn. As I came back out of the kitchen, I saw Opie on the dining room table again - gently picking a cherry up by its stem, out of the bowl it was in! As soon as he had a good hold on it, he'd jump down, and shake it vigorously, making it look like it was playing bongos on his face! :Hahaha: It slipped from his lips, and when it did - he went back up on the table, and picked another cherry out to play with! ROTFL So now I know how the cherries "spilled" on the floor. I may give Opie lessons in pie making, as long as he's so enthralled with cherries. grinsmiley
:Hahaha:

I should try! :Hahaha: I brought home a paper bag today, and sat it down on the floor. Opie climbed in and was rolling around, making lots of noise. Well, Thomas, our adult cat, was sitting on a shelf just above where Opie and the bag were. I swear, it looked like Thomas got a huge, rascally smile on his face, and he LEAPED down on top of the bag, and pressed it closed with Opie inside! :Hahaha: Opie seemed to think it was a great game. But he thinks that Thomas is Mr. Cool, anyway. Cool

Opie does sound adorable...I love that name for a cat! Applause And speaking of cherries......our little Beagle Jenna ate an entire box of chocolate covered cherries on Christmas Eve...they were supposed to be for my dad!! I absentmindedly handed a bunch of gift bags to my son to place under the tree, including THAT one, which she proceeded to devour in our absence. 🤢 You can imagine what we came home to. help At least she's ok...she's a small dog and that could have been very serious. I've learned my lesson! No more chocolate for my dad! grinsmiley

Thanks Vanessa & Lily! Yes, she is quite the character! :Snoopy14:

Here's the other pic I had posted (with our other dog Chelsey)...this shows you a bit more of her size. We really are fortunate that she was ok!

AMY. Did you HAVE to give my dog ideas?? mad grinsmiley Just kidding.........but my dog MUST have read what your Jenna did, and my Brianna decided that she should be able to do the same type of thing. When I got home tonight from work, I found a chewed up, empty bag that USED to have pretzels in it.........and the container that USED to have my dark, dark mint chocolate in it!! It was brand new!! That brat ate my dark chocolate! And now she's moaning and groaning because her stomach hurts. Well, DUH. It isn't like this is the first time she's ever done that - you'd think she'd learn!!

You know, I've read that some dogs aren't affected by chocolate, and I'm thinking that Brianna may be one of them. She's eaten a LOT of chocolate over the years (no matter where I hide it, she seems to find it!) and yet, other than a tummy ache from over-indulging, she's fine. I'm not going to give her any on purpose, of course. But I'm glad that it doesn't seem to bother her too much.

My dog Yannick (the one who dead some four years ago), used to eat chocolate too and never was affected by it. Strange...He also used to steal candies... Huh?

Oh..and I forgot to say that one of my cats, the white one, Benito, LOVED olives to death... grinsmiley

Olives?? Oh my word! Opie loves to STEAL olives, but he doesn't eat them. . . . . yet. He eats just about everything, though, so maybe in time, he'll be eating them after he steals them.ROTFL Opie loves pineapple, though. grinsmiley I was surprised that a cat would like to eat fruit!

How interesting that your Yannick wasn't bothered by chocolate, either! My first dog, Macky, almost died from eating chocolate.......but Emily and Brianna could eat quite a bit and not think a thing of it. Huh?

My Uncle used to tease me about the names I gave my dogs. He said "You can't name a dog something like EMILY. It's got to be a one-syllable name.......like Bo, or Shep" :Hahaha: So what was my next dog's name?? Brianna........THREE syllables.

Thanks Lily, Savannah & Vanessa. Wink That's my favorite pic I have of the two dogs together.

OMG, Savannah, I can't believe your dog went and did it too! Does Brianna have computer access?! grinsmiley

And LOL, I like naming my dogs 'people' names too..particularly my 'girls'. I joke that they're the only daughters I'll ever have, so why not give them the names I'd planned for my 'girls'! LOL! The accent is on the first syllable (there IS a theory about that...your uncle is right), so when they're in touble, they hear that first harsh sound. Thumbsup LOL, works for my kids too! grinsmiley

I named my puppy Hosanna after a new song that I had learned just before getting my new baby. Everyone thinks that it is an unusual name and a lot of people think that her name is Rosanna. I think it's a cool name. She is 6 and a half now, my how time flies.
