I'd make certain that I had my Mom & Dad, and niece and nephews with me on the voyage. And then I'd relish being shipwrecked. Thumbsup

WWYDI you helped campaign for a man who you thought would change the world for the better, and after he was elected, found out that he was truly evil?

(This happened to an elderly woman I knew when I volunteered at a nursing home as a teen. As a young woman, she had campaigned, and worked, and done everything she could to help get a "visionary man" elected. And after he was elected, she saw his true colors begin to come out. Adolph Hitler. She was never able to forgive herself for having helped him at all.

I'd try to make the best of things, and have a great night with the little one.......Then, another time, I'd go out with my friend. Life is too short to get worked up over little stuff.

There really wasn't anything she could do. Technically, if she'd have thought about it, she didn't help get him "elected" because he was already in power at the time that the "election" was held. The President of Germany had already been appointed him Chancellor and Leader of Germany. Later, a vote was held, and eighty-five percent of the people voted to sustain Hitler as Supreme Leader. Maybe that vote was what she had helped in. I don't know.
It was so sad.......She was so eaten up by guilt, that she pretty much lost her mind. She wouldn't talk about much of her experience, she just kept repeating that she wished she'd never helped Hitler gain power. It seemed like her mind couldn't get past that time period. I always wished that I knew more, but it was pretty obvious that she couldn't talk about it in depth.

I would take it as a blessing in disguise that I need a rest (vacation), I would take a week off to recuperate.

I hate it when that happens. I don't like to hurt anyone's feelings. But, I don't want to deceive them, either, and let them think that I'm interested in them romantically when I'm not.....So, I try to be gently honest, and decline the invitation.
