Im curious if we have any scrapbookers here? I just came from a 12 hour scrapping marathon!! I've never gotten so much done! LOL! I'm doing Creative Memories mostly, but I use other things from craft stores too. I started it 2 years ago, just from a friend's encouragement, and now I'm hooked! I'm doing a 'school days' album right now for my son who is graduating in the spring.

I'd love to do scrapbooking. I have a box FULL of pictures. But I have too many projects going on right now to add another.

The scrapbooking project you're working on for your son sounds wonderful, Amy!

Here's a page, Jacob, that shows you some layouts...

http://projectcenter.creativememories.com/photos/outdoortravel_scrapbook_l/

I personally like to leave my pages with a white background through most of the album, and then do framing with colors around the picture, and some journalism. I'm kind of a 'less is more' kind of person.

Savannah, I just started my album for my son today (I only have 3months to finish it!!), and although it's fun, I am really under the gun here! It's cool though...it's a black album, with a silver picture frame on the front cover, that will hold his Senior picture. Should look sharp! Thumbsup

I went scrapbooking yesterday too but I didn't get very much done. I have a hard time sitting too long becasue of my infection. I am working on my LHOP scrapbook. Right now I am doing pics of last year when the Divas went to our friend Beth Ingalls' house and helped her do her Ingalls Travels presentation. I have to hurry up and get it finished before the divas meet up again in July. I need to get more scrapbook pages cause I'm running out. Need more for this year's pics.
Scrapbooking is fun. I was a Creative Memories Consultant a few years ago, not for very long but I really love their products. I wasn't as good a seller of the stuff as I am a buyer of it, lol.

LOL Marilyn, I hear ya! I haven't sold it, but my friend just got out of it and she had trouble selling it too. The problem is there is just SO much out there now at craft stores (some just as nice, some not), that CM is really in BIG competition. I'm lucking out there, my friend is selling me a bunch of her stuff at cost. Woo hoo! Trying not to get carried away there....

Good luck on your LHOP scrapbook, Marilyn! It sounds like FUN, and I'd love to see some of the pages you end up creating if you're able to scan them somehow! Thumbsup

I would love to do scrapbooking, but I have no patience when it comes to many details. :sad5:

I've done my girls growing and progess books, but stopped at 4 or 5 years of age. There goes my chance of being a Mother of the Century. *sigh* No

Scrapbooking is one of my favorite hobbies! I have three big scrapbooks related to Little House - one just Little House in general (various cast members, articles, pictures, etc), one for Melissa Gilbert, and one of Matt Laborteaux (of course, LOL). I also have several from different trips I went on in the past and such. I'm always adding to mine and changing things - like a few weeks ago, I found stickers at AC Moore that I thought would look perfect in my scrapbook from our Boston trip, so now I want to re-do some of the pages to make them look less cluttered if I add the stickers.

I haven't really used any CM stuff (though I am enjoying looking at the link you posted, Amy). I usually just buy colored paper or sometimes paper with designs/patterns and go from there, adding some text and stickers, etc.

My "work in progress" scrapbook is one I'm working on right now - I'm trying to use all the wedding material I'm gathering (places, dresses, favors, invitation options, etc), and keep them all together to make a scrapbook out of those. I'm hoping it will help keep me sane in the process. ROTFL

My pages are pretty simple Amy, nothing special. I have seen some people's scrapbooks and they are so fancy, wow. Not me! I will see what I can do, maybe take a pic of a two page spread and post it here. Don't know if the divas will mind or not. Guess I should ask, huh.

Yeah, you should see some of the ones that people were doing yesterday. AND some of the equipment they have!!! OhMy Hardcore stuff!! I like to get pretty creative myself, but I need to remind myself of my time limit...I'm only on 1st grade for Brendan at this point...I need to get 12 more grades in there by JUNE!! affraid So I really need to cool it on making it so in depth on each page.

Christina, your scrapbooks sound so cool too!! I would love to do a Little House book someday...right now it's all I can do to get my own family pics in order though. I would love to do a 'heritage' album one day, using black paper and with old family photos. That's a long way down the road though. Wink

My mom likes to scrapbook. Though, she doesn't have to much time to do it! I enjoy it for about, um, 5 minutes. I think I would like it better if we had more things to work with, and everything wasn't so expensive!

My nieces are starting up and actually I've been able to find a lot of stuff at garage sales for them (and for me!)...now that spring is almost here I'll start hunting again. There are a lot of people who start into it thinking they'll like it, then they don't, and want to get rid of their investment. It's a great way to stock up! Thumbsup

And no, Beckie...it's NOT very far!! Beginning of June!! OhMy

This isn't really a scrapbook idea, but when nephew was born, I saved the newspaper from that day. The whole thing, front to back. Then I gave it to him when he was in his teens. He thought it was cool to be able to see what all the news stories, sports stories, comics, ads, etc., were on the day he was born.

Lily, I somehow missed your earlier post! :shy: Believe me, Misti & Lily, I am not one of these organized moms, documenting her kids' lives from year to year either! No, no!! I wish I was...I just started this hobby two years ago, and did Brendan's baby album! LOL, only 16 years late! grinsmiley I'd planned to do my younger son's baby book next, but then realized that was FAR too ambitious considering it's Bren's graduation year. So yep...gonna have to wait on that one.
And Misti, I think I have more pics of my older son too, but I'll tell ya, they're definitely not as good a quality. We had a crappy camera when Brendan was young. Bummer.

Rob, I love your newspaper idea! What a thoughtful uncle you are! Thumbsup

That is a neat idea, rob. Then you could use that newspaper for the background for the baby pictures in the scrapbook!
