“Mr. Edward’s Homecoming”


While Charles is in Mankato, he runs into Mr. Edwards and invites him to come to Walnut Grove. Caroline tries to match Mr. Edwards up with Grace Snider, but instead she just ends up in the way since Mr. Edwards is able to charm Grace all by himself. Although there are a couple problems that must be overcome, things turn out for the best in the end.















I really enjoy this episode. The ending of the Pilot episode is so sad when Mr. Edwards says goodbye to the Ingalls, so it was really great to see him back with them again!
It is so hilarious how Grace keeps looking at Mr. Edwards thinking he is drinking on the job. There is also a scene when she discovers it’s water and Mr. Hanson walks in on her drinking and looks shocked. [shocked] After Grace walks off Mr. Hanson tells Mr. Edwards he’s surprised and all Mr. Edwards says is “Oh, it’s always the quiet ones” and nods his head and so does Mr. Hanson. Too funny!

Yes me too! Tht wasn´t the Mr Edwards as we wanted him. Not the Mr Edwards who sang Old Dan Tucker, who taught Laura how to spit and who had so many troubles taking care of the children in Ma´s Holiday (I think it was that episode)

Hum...Yes. I was thinking just the same since some days by now. I don't like how the writers made him tro broke with Grace. I liked this couple so much...And I was heartbroken for Alicia, who loved her daddy so much.

Anyone has any ideas on why they changed it. I´m curious cause I can´t find any reasonable explanation for it. Maybe they needed some tension

I already knew Mr Edwards wasn´t a real character but it always saddens me since I love his character and would like to know more about him...

Yes. He was. There is some speculation about who could he have really been. It's like the case of Nellie Oleson. Of course, she was for real! Only that in Walnut Grove she was named Nellie Owens (and she also had a little brother named Willie), and in De Smet Genny Masters and Stella Gilbert. But they were real people. Something similar happend to Mr. Edwards, for sure.
