You are right, Beckie. That was a problem I had too online. People think they know us and actually they don't!!

Well, people are led to believe who you are by your comments in the virtual world, but there is no real way to know who a person is online because a person can tell you just about anything and there isn't a likely chance you'll be able to verify its truth; whereas, if someone tells you at work that she lives in a mansion, but you see her driving around in a 20 year old car you might think something doesn't sound quite right and you probably would have a chance to find out if this person was being dishonest. Just another reason it is so important to be careful of the friendships you make online. They don't always turn out the way you expect them to.

Thanks Beckie. I know how you feel!! No matter what, like I said, no one has any right to judge you or anyone else for that matter, no matter what you said or did, if anything.

I do choose not to say my real name, as it's my right, as well as for my safety, nor do I give out my location. I would prefer to be called by my user name, people can call me Crouse fan for short. I belong to many forums and they only know my usernames at the forums. (I have had problems with "clingy" people on the internet. It makes you change everything, and that's why I have chosen to keep my name private.)

I have recently started helping a friend teach internet safety to kids, and it has truly been an experience. We encourage kids and teens not to give their names, or any personal info, such as addresses or phone numbers.

Cyber bullying is another matter as well, and no one deserves to be harrassed and slandered online either.

So Beckie, no matter what happened with those people, I am sure you did not deserve that treatment. I am here and so are you, and you have nothing but nice things to say in your posts.
