has anyone here ever been to the top of the Washington Monument? It was open the day I saw the monument but I was too scared to go inside it?

Great pics! Thanks for sharing them.

But geez... you'd think they'd give that Wright Brother a decent burial.

there's a Wright Brothers Memorial in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. I think the flyer I took a picture of should be with the memorial!

These pics make me want to go back again!! I took my older son to D.C. for his 8th grade field trip; now my younger son is in 8th but goes to a different school, and they aren't going. I would love to do a family trip there. It was nice going on a tour, but there is a lot that I missed, I know.

The Changing of the Guard is an amazing experience, isn't it?! Thanks for sharing your pics with us Ingallsfan!

the Changing Of The Guard was amazing, and I just barely made it there to see it! it was so hot out that day, but I still stayed there!

Those are really great pictures Thumbsup .

I've been to the top of the Washington Monument when I was a lot younger. I was pretty disappointed that I couldn't see our house from way up there, after all you could see for miles! I guess it was hidden behind all the tree tops :Hahaha:

Spring is finally here, the lovely pink blooms on the "spray" tree outside my window are gone leaving a beautiful willow.
