My son is getting married

I can't believe that my son is getting married on Saturday. Where did the time go?

Congrats to the newlyweds. And how nice is it to have a wedding just 2 days after your own anniversary. I'll be thinking of you and your family this weekend my friend. God bless each of you.

WOW, really?!?! How exciting Cheryl! Is it going to be a big church wedding with all the bells and whistles? Where are they going on their honeymoon? Congrats to your son, and to your whole family! I am sure it hardly seems possible! Enjoy the day!

Thanks ladies. Savannah, that's what happens when a baby has a baby. I assume I'll be a yoiung grandmother too. At least he waited until I passed 40.

No church wedding for these guys, Amy. My mother-in-law is disappointed, but the kids had to decide what they wanted for themselves. Thankfully the weather on Saturday is going to be nice because they are getting married in a park, which is also where they will hold the reception.

I think they're going somewhere in Mexico. Not sure. They told me, but I don't travel a lot, so I don't pay attention. I know, bad mommy. All those years of telling my kids to listen to me and I don't lead by example.

And I ain't passed 40 yet. I'm on the borderline though.

Hey, that's how they did it on Dr. Quinn! Happy to hear the weather will be beautiful! That would be the scariest part of planning an outdoor wedding! Hope you will post some pictures for us Cheryl!

WOW Cheryl.....CONGATULATIONS!!!! My middle son flew to Florida from Cuba back in October and got married to his g/f of only a year......he'll turn 22 this July......Personally, I think he made a mistake, but.....you live and learn.....

It's been very hard for me to learn, Rhonda, that we can't live our children's lives for them. I can't say I've always stood back and allowed him to make mistakes without comment, but I know he has to learn the hard way, just like I did. He already regrets dropping out of college to move in with his girlfriend--soon to be wife. He lost his full time job at the beginning of the year and is struggling financially because they bought a house in November. I wish I could write him a blank check to help him out, but how would learn from his mistakes if I did that? Not that I could really afford to do that anyway, but my desire is still there.

I just have to trust that he remembers the things I've told him and that with the multitude of prayers I say on his behalf, things will be okay. Such is the lot for us moms, isn't it, my friend?

Thanks for the congratulations. How about some good news from your end now? I would love to see things get better in your end of the world too.

Thanks for the congratulations everyone. It was a beautiful day. I managed not to cry until the mother and son dance when the DJ played Because You Loved Me by Celine Dion. Later on I was talking to John and I told him he picked a beautiful song. He said, "It's all true."

I'm glad to hear eveything turned out beautiful. Oh Cheryl, I would have been a combination of wanting to bawl my eyes out and trying to restrain myself at the same time. What a beautiful song he chose for the dance. I know it had to be a very touching moment.
