More heart trouble for my dad

The doctors are treating their patients as if they were things and not persons...I think they postponed your father surgery TWICE. This is bad enough for an old patient who is waiting surgery and has some stress because of it.

Your father will be in my prayers, Beckie...what a sad news. I bet he wants to be opered quickly . Carrying all this pre-surgery stress condition further on is bad for the person who must go thourough it. As you've said, the doctors must have known about your dad's chest condition BEFORE saying to him he will be operated.

Aw Beckie, I am so sorry you're going through this. And your dad too. It's a terrible thing that this is having to drag on like this ----all the more time to get worked up about it! Stay positive sweetie....you are going to get through this, and so will he. Take care---I'll be praying.

I don't understand how doctors can do this. You are correct Beckie they should have noticed this as they prepped him for surgery and not after they put him under. I can understand their caution, but where is the compassion for the patient and their family?

Thank you so much everyone. The doctor must have been looking at picture of my dad's heart and he seems to think that maybe his meds are starting to heal the bad valve. So he may not need the surgery after all! He has to go to the doctor and get more tests to see if it needs done or not. Please pray for a miracle. My mom thinks what happened yesterday was God's way of saying stop it's not as bad as it was before. You never know. God works in mysterious ways. I pray that he does not need it and that he and my mom will be healthy for a very long time. We are all going to start and to be careful of what foods we eat. Less salt and more heart healthy foods.

That would be wonderful if your dad doesn't end up needing to have surgery! I am continuing to pray.

Oh wow Beckie, that would be awesome! Yes, God really does work in mysterious ways. I will be praying that he continues to heal!

What a good new, Beckie! Hope your Pa wouldn't need any surgery. If a person could heal without one, it's 100% better. I'll pray for the miracle, be sure of it!

Thanks everyone! He will be going for testing after the holidays. The doctor said it's not urgent.

I guess miracles do happen around this time of the year. I'm keeping the prayers coming as well. I still don't understand why they didn't realize this before they sedated him? I guess it's not for me to understand and just accept the great news that came out of it.

I know I have said this before, but again, I am so sorry for your loss Patrick. I can't imagine losing my dad, and I can tell that you are still in pain, understandably.
