LHOP: The Complete Series on DVD

Hey gang,

My Laura's Little Houses blog has information about the November 2008 release from Lionsgate and Imavision of the LHOP Mega-Set.  There are links to TV Shows on DVD.com to the three recent articles, including one that lists the bonus content for this new set with a SRP of $279.98.

I love the case, it's very cute!

I would only buy those if spanish audio was added...

It's a hard sell for people who have already purchased the seasons separately. While I would love to own the bonus features, how can I justify spending that kind of money?

I like the case, too. The only way I would consider buying it is if they were the uncut episodes. I already have all the individual seasons so there would be no reason to get them again unless they were uncut.

I agree...but it would be a nice thing to have...just a whole lot of money!

I can't even believe how cool they've made this set!! Holy cow!!! It is VERY impressive, and honestly, I think it's priced right. I know other long series and even some that aren't quite as long (like the X-Files for example) are comparable in price, and they don't even have quite the fantastic special features that this has. I only own seasons one and two...I am not going to let this stop me from buying. It may not be this year, but this is a must have for me!! Thanks for letting us know about it Cheryl!

I love that over of it. I wish I could afford that in one shot as well. I only have the first 3 seasons at this point and a couple of the movies. And as was said its a shame it isn't all uncut episodes instead.

Wow that's great! I would love to buy that, but unfortunately I am a poor college student LOL :unsure:

If I save up though maybe next summer! I'll probably just end up buying them individually haha. I have season 7 on DVD, and am in the process of trying to buy some more! I borrowed season 6 from my friend, and have been watching a TON of them on YouTube which is always good.

I grew up watching them on TBS when they were on every morning. I would love to have the complete set!

That looks pretty cool! I think that that's a reasonable price. I divided it by ten and ends up being almost twenty-eight a season.


I wonder if all of the extras that were on dvds are going to be on the new set?

I'd be very tempted to buy this and sell my set...

Those are awesome special features. I'm happy (new stuff) but it's a tad irritating since I have already bought seasons 1 - 7. Ah. Oh well, it always happens like that. First individual seasons come out, then massive box sets. Some day down the road, I'll splurge. I think I'd be reaaally tempted if they released the uncut episodes.

So, do we know for sure that they're not un-cut?

I was at Barnes & Noble last night, and there were tons of boxed dvd sets for 40% off...lots of them were $300 sets. I notice that they sell the individual LHOP dvds there too, so I would think they'd carry the new set. That's the way to get it, with the 40% off! Plus if you're a member (my dad is) then you get the extra 10% off. Something to think about! My hubby has a second job at Best Buy, so I'm hoping for a hefty discount on it. Fingers crossed!!

No, I personally don't know for certain they are NOT uncut. It's possible they are uncut. I just think it would be advertised if they were, plus I think I read somewhere that the reason the DVD's are not uncut is because they had to use the syndicated reruns for the DVD's, which were cut down to allow for more ads. I can't remember the details, but I got the impression they'd never release the uncut in the U.S. Again, I can't recall exactly why I think this, as I read it quite awhile ago and don't even know if it was accurate. Does anyone else know more about it?

I've asked Dean and haven't heard anything yet. Contacting Imavision isn't always successful. Perhaps we can try Lionsgate. Some countries did receive uncut versions with the original sets, but the US didn't.

Thanks for the info, Bethers and Cheryl. I kind of think you're right Bethers, that they would advertise it if it were un-cut, considering what a selling point that would be for people who already own part or all of the series.

I agree that if they were uncut, I would consider spending the money.

If not, I already have the entire dvd collection and wouldn't spend that kind of money just for the case (though it is cute!)

Has anyone here purchased this set yet? If so, what do you think of it? :)
