Yes, I love reading things on the kindle because at times it is very convenient... but there is nothing like "real" books to me. The feel of the book...

Remember to read some actual books from time to time :)

I would rather read a real book. Smile

I don't read anything but "real" books. Unless there comes a time when I have no other choice, I don't plan on reading any books other than the good old fashioned kind with paper pages. Smile

How did I miss this thread???
Oh, the smell of books. It is as dear to me as the scent of sizzling bacon on a chilled winters morn.
I also like ham.

Me too, love the smell, the feel of some of the books that have thicker pages, being able to flip back and forth without a button, ( Smile ) Kindle is good for free books, many classics , books for information, but I will never replace buying books.

Another good thing for Kindle is being able to take 5 books on a plane without the weight, but nothing can replace the feel of a real book, it's not just the words.

I have never read on a Kindle, and I don't plan to. Don't get me wrong,I love reading, but ''real'' books are good enough for me!

Anyway, yes, the smell of books! I do admit to loving the smell of an old used book store.

I've always enjoyed paperbacks over ebooks, but ebooks sure don't take up the space all my books do. I'm running out of room.

I really don't have room for all of my books either. At least I don't upstairs. So when I am done reading one, I will store in a box down in the basement. I have a few boxes down there with books.

I can't get rid of my books. You see, someday, in my crazy mind, I will still have a library in my home that is like the one in "Beauty and the Beast" (well, at least like Professor Higgins' library in "My Fair Lady"). I have to keep those books to fill the shelves. Smile

I definitley prefer real books! I have always loved to read and to me it's so exciting to have a new BOOK in my hands to open up. I have bookcases full of books. One of my favorite places to shop is at a bookstore

A book I've been looking forward to reading (it's the second one in the series, I read the first earlier this year) was just released, but I guess it isn't a very popular book because right now it has only been released as an e-book. So I'm going to be borrowing a kindle so I can read it. I'd still prefer books in print, but this e-book is one I've been wanting to read

Always real books for me... unless the book is only available in an ebook. I have seen a few like that. Holding the book, turning the pages, smelling the book, it's all part of the experience.
