Hello everyone

Hi - I'm Joe but I'm not from Mankato :) Actually, I'm from Scotland and have just rekindled my decades old affair with LHOTP after realising that it is being shown on one of our channels. My DVR records it from 6-7am and I watch it later on. Only seen 2 episodes so far, and it's in the middle of season 9. They will most likely repeat from the beginning again after showing the later movies. With the Waltons, they are running seasons 4 and 9 concurrently...I kinda wish they would do the same with LH as I know season 9 isn't the best, but I'll be patient.

Anyway, it was a period of illness (acute pancreatitis) and a long recovery which has led me to watch TV again...was always more of a book reader but there is something magical, chimerical about LH that connects me with my own childhood and it's great to rediscover it and find a dedicated forum. There's nothing quite like a period of illness to make me evaluate what's important and what isn't; my job and how I used to spend my free time didn't make me happy but reconnecting with my childhood has.

Hey, nice post Joe, and welcome to the prairie. I am a huge LHOTP fan too... Seasons 1,2, and 3 are my favorites, and I am sure you will love seeing those again.

Thanks, everyone. It's great to have the knowledge of the show on here from so many members and be able to browse and find things out.

Kind of sad this evening..I've just watched the movie where Albert gets sick and finds out he's not going to live long. I was watching the scenes between Charles and Isaiah and realizing that both the actors would be dead within 8 years of filming, both at 54 and both only a couple of months after getting their own bad news.

But the movie does end on a strong note - make the most of every day. I've been trying to do this myself having had a pretty bad health scare, (thankfully I'm OK now).

Welcome to the foum, MankatoJoe. Sorry for the delay in welcoming you.

I'm back watching LH again and reading the forum.

I had Hodgkin's Lymphoma diagnosed last Summer and was so ill in hospital with that and Delirium for a few weeks - turned 50 while in hospital. Then a course of chemotherapy made me feel pretty poor for a while.

But my latest scan is clear: I'm in remission and need only go back to the hospital for 3 monthly check-ups. Luckily, it's one of the easier cancers to treat; but it's made me re-evaluate what's important to me. I was on another forum I'd belonged to for 8 years but actually got trolled about my cancer. At least here I figure anyone who is a fan of LH is pure of heart.

Looking forward to posting more.
