| My dad passed at 10:30pm last night. I know I don't post often anymore but I wanted to share the love I will always feel for this man. Even mom said he didn't have even one enemy. So many memories, right now, all good. You should have met him, you would have liked him. I bet a White Castle cheeseburger on that statement. (man did he love those!) I'm actually a bit prideful right now, not everyone had an 'ideal' childhood. I did. Shy 3 months to the day of his 53rd wedding anniversary, my mom is lost right now as can be expected. I was his best man at the renewing of their vows for the 50th. Damn, typing this out brings back so much. Not one day did I feel unloved. That is a powerful statement and I wish everyone had that, I know some don't. Waking up this morning brought tears, good tears, healthy, cleansing tears and the reality hit me but that will fade, not the memories. I can't do anything more than thank him as loud as I can and often. You know what's cool?, I got to say everything I needed to, nothing was left unsaid. | So sorry to hear it Joe.....Just went through a loss and I know what you are going through. Looks like he lived a good long life, but I know that doesn't make it easier. Great that you shared that kind of love with your Dad.....Something to be cherished!
My Thoughts and Prayers are with you,

| Your dad sounds a lot like mine, Joe. Condolences on your loss. The last thing you mentioned has to be the source of a lot of comfort thought - in the end, nothing was left unsaid. | |

| I'm so sorry for your loss, Joe. But what a comfort to know that you have no regrets about things left unsaid between the two of you. It sounds like he was a wonderful man, and a wonderful father. You're very blessed to have had such a man as your father - and I'm sure that he felt blessed to have you for his son. | |
