Last night in the semi-finals of the Women's World Cup, with the score tied and only seconds to play, England's Laura Bassett accidentally kicked the ball into her own goal, giving Japan the 2-1 win. Poor girl. Japan plays the USA for the championship on Sunday.

I feel so bad for her! I'm glad that her teammates have been supportive and kind. It's bad enough when something like that happens in lower levels of sports, but when you're playing at that level, the whole world ends up seeing your blunder. Or at least it would feel that way.
