| That'll provide a lot of ammunition for the opposition. "If she can't even handle her own finances..." | |

| Politicians are so predictable. They jumped right on the tax debt. http://www.cnn.com/2015/08/10/politics/melissa-gilbert-house-on-the-prairie-congress/index.htmlBishop's campaign spokesman Stu Sandler was quick to point out that Gilbert owes more than $300,000 in back taxes to the IRS. "Melissa Gilbert can afford to have a stylist and a Louis Vuitton collar for her dog, but cannot pay her taxes. Her Hollywood values are out of whack with the district," Sandler said in a statement to CNN. | |

| She wont be the first politician to owe taxes, I've heard that my whole life, but it doesn't make it right, if she can show it was a one time thing, it shouldn't hurt too much. She is probably hoping her fan base might look beyond that and see "Laura" or whomever. Time will tell and her passion and reasons for doing it. | |

| Not sure the timing is good for this....the tax thing only came to light around 2 months ago or so. And she is VERY new to Michigan. But yes, she certainly has a fan base here in Michigan now so who knows. By the way, she moved to Brighton, about 10 minutes from Howell, so she sure didn't go far! Here's a new interview and she addresses the tax situation too...this is taken in her new home! http://m.clickondetroit.com/news/oneonone-with-melissa-gilbert/34707892“Not all of us can do great things. | Good luck to her! One thing I like about the character Laura was that she was plucky and somewhat of a tomboy. She always stood up for other people and for what she thought was right | |
