| Well, this sounds like a unique case. I mean who asks for their water to be shut off? Maybe this woman has been a problem before. But if not, I can't see getting into it with a seventy-year-old lady over dead grass. | |

| In a neighboring town, a man was actually thrown in JAIL because his grass wouldn't grow. Seriously. I think that's pretty petty. And they should be ashamed, picking on that 70 year old lady. Brown grass indeed. Why don't they try finding a way to help her instead? | |

| I read that article! In my street, there was a house who had brown lawn and tall weeds... it brought down the street because it looked awful.
Then the other day I saw some city workers cutting it and since it was brown, they painted over it I believe so it looks green lol
I don't know about the people who live in the house... maybe they are away or something...

| I don't think they were painting it. I see this used upon occasion. Whatever is in that stuff, it makes grass grow. | |

| Here in Oregon there are certain neighborhoods in which you must get approval from the entire block before you do anything at all to your house or yard, including painting, landscaping etc.
If a neighbor doesn't like the color you chose to paint your house, and they don't sign the "consent" form that needs to be signed by the entire block and you paint the house anyway...you can get cited and charged a huge fine.
This kind of thing makes me really mad.
I can understand keeping up property and making sure that the neighborhood stays clean, tidy and you do not plant anything invasive...but for crying out loud...noone should have the right to tell you what color to paint your own house!
We did not move into a neighborhood like that...but we know several people who have some serious issues because they did. You remain responsible.. Forever... For what you have tamed. - Antoine de Saint-Exupery

| My BF lives in a gated neighborhood, they all have to maintain their houses and front properties clean and tidy with manicured lawn or a picture will be taken and posted on their monthly neighborhood newletter for Hall of Shame. | I can understand if someone's yard is dirty and has weeds, but if it's just brown lawn then that's a crock of crap, lol. As long as it's not hurting anyone then who cares. Beckie LETS GO PENS! | |

| Ya that is unreal! You couldn't pay me to live in a neighborhood like you guys described. My yard is kept up really nice. All of my neighbors compliment me on my flowers and stuff.:thankyou: I do however have some brown grass. I refuse to pay a higher water bill to have green grass....bescides.... I'd have to mow it more. |

| What the guy in the picture is spraying is a mixture of grass seed and fertilizer. It's called hydroseeding. That how we got our lawn when we moved into this house. | |
