| In a few days we will mark the 6th anniversary of the worst day in our living history. I just wanted you all to know that I am thinking of America as this day approaches. I remember watching the heart wrenching stories of loved ones lost and families that have been forever changed. I am praying for all Americans today and in the days that follow. Hugs from Canada, Marilyn :rainbowfaces:

| Thank you, Marilyn. You know, this morning, there was an article on tv about what had happened on Sept. 11....and I still couldn't watch it, even after so much time has passed. It was so horrific when it took place......I could still feel so strongly the same emotions that I had when it all happened, seeing such shocking images.....I just couldn't watch it again. | |

| Thank you Marilyn...you are so sweet!
They were talking about this on the radio this morning and saying how fresh it is for some people and yet how it seems like other people have forgotten. I just can't quite grasp that. I know it's not 'fresh' for most of us, but the horror of that day comes back in a rush every anniversary, and still so much of our everyday lives are tainted by this tragedy. My twin nieces' birthdays are on Sept. 11...unfortunately they'll always have their special day overshadowed by the events of this day in history. “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

I feel the exact same way. They showed a photographer on tv (I believe on Sunday), who happened to be one of the first on the scene. He was already in the area when the planes hit, taking photos of something else, when the planes hit. Seeing those photos brought me to tears and all of the feelings I had felt on that day had come rushing back. I tried to watch something about it on tv the other day, but I just couldn't. It was too emotional. I know I will never forget.

We have also been asked to fly the flag at your home or place of business if you can. Thinking back on where I was and what I was doing on that dreaded morning will always stay in my mind.
I'll never forget what I was doing that morning too. I thought it was a joke at first. I heard it on the radio. Alot of folks have there headlights on here too. I proudly fly my flag everyday. Is the flags suppose to be half mass today?

I'm with you Savannah--I still can't watch anything about that day. My husband has some of the movies and documentaries about it and I haven't watched them. I have a few books I bought about Sept 11th, figuring, over time I would be able to distance myself from the emotions of that day...but nope, they are still sitting unread on my bookshelf. Maybe it's the thought of how my brother-in-law could have been killed if his meeting at the WTC hadn't been changed to a different location at the last minute or the emotional scene at the private school--many of whose students had families in NY--where I went to pick up my nephew, but I just can't relive it yet. Silly, when I lost no one, but the mind can be a strange things sometimes. Cheryl

| It isn't silly at all, Cheryl. {{{HUG}}} It's almost impossible to see such suffering without being impacted in a very strong way. And, we had never seen something like that happen here in our own country, either. I don't think that most people thought that anything like that could ever happen here. I don't think it's silly at all. And what a miracle for your family, Cheryl! Your brother-in-law is very blessed! | |

| I live in the Toronto area and everyone was afraid that Canada was the next target. It was a very frightning day. I heard bits and pieces of the news from customers coming in but our staff had no way to listen or watch any news. As soon as I got home I watched the news for the rest of the day. Yesterday Oprah had some children who had lost their parents on her show. It was so sad. I am praying for each of them. They all want to grow up to honour and respect theier parent's memory. God bless all whom this tragedy effected. Your loved ones will never be forgotten. | |
