| This semester I am taking a philosophy class and it is beating the crap out of me. So far we've read Plato and Augustine. I am finding it so hard to read! The words go in circles and it gets my head spinning. It seems like it takes at least 5 pages to get one point across, that could have been said in one paragraph. I was reading some last night and I swear, it gave me a headache. Don't get me wrong, the ideas and concepts are all very interesting, I just wish it all were easier to read. This will be me on December 12th, when the class is done. | |

| Ouch, luckily I never had to take this course. I don't think I would have done well at all. Plus I think it's pretty boring, lol. I am sure you will do better that I would have. Beckie LETS GO PENS! | |

| It could be hard, yes..and most when you are a starter like I was when I began my History courses. But you will find Augustine and Plato very interesting (once you will understand what they are trying to say) . In fact I like them a lot and they are NOT boring. Of course, the teacher we had was excellent and brilliant and we discussed the theories in class. Even if you wouldn't believe it...It was FUNNY! :woohooo: :shifty: Vanesa. | |

- Hang in there, Pam! Those philosophers just never learned how to be both brilliant and brief simultaneously.
You can say that again!!

Vanesa. If it wasn't for my teacher going over the readings during class, I would never get it! The readings have lead to some pretty interesting class discussions. I just wish they had versions in plain English, that today's people can understand. Thanks for your comments and support, everyone. I have my first exam on Monday. Yikes! But, after the teacher explained about how she does the tests, I am feeling a little better. She'll do things like have a section with 7 questions, but she only wants you to answer 4. So, you can pick the 4 you feel most comfortable with. Plus, she gives you 3 bonus questions at the end. Just random questions that have nothing to do with philosophy, so you have a chance to earn some extra points that way. Plus, she gave everyone cd-roms that contain all kinds of material that has to do with the class. So, if I study, study, study, I think I can do okay.
