Hang lots of bright neon colors of different shapes. Maybe you can buy a small neon sign.

You could do an 80's movie theme-- Risky Business, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Weird Science, Beverly Hills Cop, Police Academy, Pretty in Pink, St. Elmo's Fire, etc--and have your guests come as a character from an 80's movie.
Other things to have or consider:
Big everything - hair, earrings, clothes w/ shoulder pads Madonna accessories Anything to do w/ Princess Diana Lee Jeans Valley Girls Preppy clothes Adam Ant's romantic and flamboyant attire Dynasty and Dallas styles

At least one guy has to have that Flock of Seagulls hairdo. That'd be too cool.

That's funny that you mention that. Tim wanted to be the lead singer of a Flock of Seagulls for Halloween, but he couldn't find a wig anywhere. The band he's in did an 80's theme party for Halloween.
Carol, it sounds like everyone gave you a lot of great ideas already. I'm sure it will be a blast!!

Okay, it looks like we're having an 80s party on May 24th. A couple of friends and I have decided to do the Thriller dance for the talent show part of the party lol. I found this cool video where this girl teaches you the thriller moves.... check it out :sillySmiley: *Just ignore the words... it's her way of teaching you, so you remember exactly what to do. This one is a little different than the music video, some steps were added but the main steps are there. My friends and I have a month to learn it... hopefully we can

That sounds like so much fun!! I'm sure you'll have that dance down in no time.
My friend went to an 80's sweater party a few months ago....everyone had to go out to a bar wearing 80's sweaters...um, you know the ones. Of course, Goodwill came in handy! We should all post old 80's pictures of ourselves!! (I will as soon as I learn how to use my scanner....um, you guys go first. )
