Not all of points fits to me, but I must agree that some DOES...And I'm proud of it!
I loved Alf, from Melmac, and don't miss (yup...even today!) the reruns at "Retro Channel".
I wouldn't like Michael Jackson so awfully much, but I admit to have danced crazily hearing his "Thriller" and "Billy-Jean"...And yes; Iremember perfectly how he was BEFORE his complete transformation in an alien from the space.
But, hey, people: you've forget "E.T"!!! And everybody watched this movie back then! And whi about t"Ghostbusters"? This movie made me crazy and I wanted to be a Ghostbuster when I should grow-up. We played Ghostbusters with friends.
Other movie from these times was "Annie" I loved all its songs, and even went to a casting to make our local theater version here (I don't get any part there and I wanted to be Annie or Pepper...Even today, I wish I could have been a red-haired girl! But I'm very relieved: my sister- in- law and one of my nephews ARE!

I had the 45 to that rap song for the show General Hospital. I was able to get it again, courtesy of a friend who found the Mp3 or something. COOL!

Remember that thing called the Lemon Twist? You put it on your ankle and jumped over the yellow lemon that was attached to it with your other foot. LOL!

I really was an '80's girl, but so much of this does not apply, and I feel like I missed something! LOL! But then I realized that I WAS in high school by 85, so I figure it's all the early 80's stuff that pertain to me! And LOL about Michael Jackson...I had the E.T. storybook record that he narrated, with him on the cover! He was such a cutie...back then!

A lot of it doesn't apply to me, either - especially in the music and movies area. . . . . . And, I never was impressed with The Babysitters Club. I was a Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys/Trixie Belden girl.
But a lot of the list is very familiar to me.

I did half the things on this list and the two things that drove my mom crazy was the slouch socks and bright colored shirts. I still catch myself singing shot through the heart alot

After reading that list of great memories, I started singing ---"Memories...like the corners of my mind. Misty-water-colored memories, of the way we were." LOL! Gaaah! I loved the 80's! What a decade! What great memories! Though I was born in '68, I love the 70's, too. I'm even having a 70's themed b'day party next month.
I actually listened to a cassette on my cassette "Walkman" Friday. While my student did her homework, (private tutoring) I couldn't turn on my TV as it would distract her. So, I pulled out one of my old cassette players with headphones, and put it to use since my CD Walkman tore up a long time ago. She's 10yrs old, so I'm guessing she's not too sure about what the cassettes were. She didn't ask and I didn't tell. LOL! Hmm. She might even have looked at the CD player in an odd way, since so many kids are into mp3's and ipods, or whatever those new-fangled contraptions are. I gotta get with it, man! I'm losing my cool! I was totally cool in the 80's!
Rock Me Amedeus! :woohooo:
I'm going to post the list at my forum. My small group of members would love to see it, I'm sure.

I still have some casette singles stashed around too...I came across them the other night when looking for Christmas music CDs. I also loved the Babysitters Club - I was so sad a few years ago when browsing in Border's, I saw the final book of the series. Apparently a lot happened after I stopped reading! LOL.
