| “THE RUNAWAY CABOOSE” Mary, Laura, and Mr. Edwards' adopted son, Carl, go along with Charles and Mr. Edwards to a train station. The three children wander into the caboose. The caboose then begins to move backwards. Charles is able to catch up to a train that was heading straight for the caboose just before tragedy would have struck. This was a fun episode, specially if you like trains. Thanks again Farmer Girl for the pics you provided for this episode :sillySmiley:

| Another episode full of suspense. I enjoyed it, but I don't think it's a very realistic scenario. Chasing down a train, jumping on it, hijacking it, and reversing it just in time? Hmm, OK, I'll buy it. | |

| Pretty good, but some parts were a bit exaggerated, IMO. I guess that makes for good action and suspense for some. | |

| Full of suspense, Once again we see that once Pa gets into a potentially tragic situation(eg a Matter of Faith, the Plague)he does everything within his power to stop it! | |

| I liked this episode, but I admit that I was laughing a lot at Pa's heroics and find this episode fairly unbelievable. I also don't think the railroad president would be so jovial and forgiving at the end. This whole incident probably cost the train company money and of course it cost them time.
Also, I wonder if that guy ever gets his horse back? | |

| I like this episode. I had watch this on youtbe. Cause, my Season2 disc 4 got scratch. When, I was reading in the comments. Someone mention their was car behind the train, in the far distance. I never notices before. Until that person, pointed it out. I rewatch that scene. Sure enough, I see a white car in the background. ML forgot edit out. | |

| Great episode! But I was very scared for the children because since the beginning of this train ride was not much fun, since they were risking their lives there. I really liked the fact that Charles and Isaiah had done everything he can to rescue the children of the runaway train. I was very angry with the employee who was washing clothes at the time was passing the telegraph for him. Gee, he could have chosen another time to wash the dirty laundry? It was fair to do so during working hours? I imagine it must have been very difficult to shoot scenes in which the two trains meet. This scene it was great! | |

| The Runaway Caboose is my favorite episode from season 2. Thank goodness Charles made it in time to prevent a tragedy. | |

| I was watching it today. I noticed that when Charles is jumping down from the log pile into the engine to tell the engineers to stop the train because of the runaway caboose, you can see someone setting on the pile, then they were gone, then as the train is backing up, you can see something on the side of the road and it looks like a tarp is laying over it. | |

| I wasn't my favorite but I have read many of the actor's in it liked it a lot. It must have been a lot of fun shooting it. I'll have to look for that car if I see it again.

| So if Grace thought that forbidding Carl to go on the trip wasn't an appropriate punishment for setting off a firecracker in the barn, what punishment would've been more fitting? | |
