| Our pets are always doing something that makes us laugh. Be it that they do it themselves OR that we do to them to make them look funny! I have two dogs. Panther & Rocky When I get home from work, I always go to the sliding door to the back yard and greet them. Both of them always come running to me and get in front of me so I can pet them and talk baby talk to them and tell them how cute they are :haha: . Anyway, I do that for like a minute so I can go and get out of my work clothes and get into something comfortable. But they hate it when I close the screen door on them and go back inside.... Well actually, Panther hates it. When I close the door, she always turns to Rocky and starts growling at him, like if it was HIS fault that I closed the door! She always does that, it is too funny These are Panther & Rocky What about you guys? Savannah, I KNOW you have stories to share! | |

| LOL, Krissy!
Carol, your dogs are beautiful! That's funny that Panther blames Rocky for the door closing!! :Hahaha:
The other day, I had bought a bag of peanut butter cups. I was in a hurry, so I put the bag on a chair, and went in the other room to answer the phone. When I came back in to get the bag of peanut butter cups, Brianna, my dog, was trying VERY hard to get the bag - but Opie was sitting right next to it, slapping her face every time she'd come close to it! :Hahaha: Goooooooooood Opie.
Then, last night, I heard a "thud..........thud..........thud............thud" coming from the hallway. I went to see what it was, and found Opie dragging one of Rachel's little dolls up the stairs by its piggytail!! He provides quite a bit of entertainment. :haha:
My first dog, Mack, was a lot of fun, too. She was such a sweetie! She was a black lab/Springer Spaniel mix. And she was incredibly gentle - but she didn't like the UPS man. Not ALL of them - just one. She didn't mind the mail man, or any other UPS man.. . . . . but there was one she didn't like. He came one day, and I was on the porch with Mack. He asked if Mack was protective, and I told him that she'd never bit anyone, but that she was still a protective dog. He came a few steps closer, and asked "So, if I grabbed your arm like this, she might attack?" and grabbed my wrist. Before I had a chance to say a word, Macky had raced across the porch and jumped at him, pushing him back. Then she bit his ankle. (He was wearing boots, so it didn't draw blood or hurt him.) But he never tried that again. And every time he had to deliver any package to us, he would *quickly* place the package on the porch, close the door, yell "UPS!" and run back to his truck. :Hahaha:

Wow, I think a lot of times animals are smarter than people. And that's hilarious about Opie stopping Brianna from taking the peanut butter cups - looks like he was trying to prevent trouble instead of getting into it in that case! I love your pet stories, Savannah! | Well I had a house dog, a German Shepherd, Buck (he died in 06) Anyway, it was Thanksgiving and mom and I were preparing the turkey, and the phone rang and we both raced to answer it lol, after we came back Buck has apparently reached up into the sink and retrieved the uncooked turkey and he had it on the floor licking it... it only had two puncture marks where his canines had bit into the meat... what do you think mom did with the turkey?? She rewashed it, cooked it, and we ate it... YUM!!!!! LOL He was a silly dog :)

| When I was a baby and still in a stoller, some people on horseback came down our farm lane and into the front yard. I was out there enjoying the springtime in my stroller and our border collie Frisky came and sat beside me to protect me from those LARGE animals and strangers. She was a special dog and we were sorry to lose her at the age of 14. | |

| Aw, these pet stories are so cute! And Carol, your dogs are just gorgeous! I just adore Rocky...I'm crazy about Huskies! What I have noticed is that there are more stories to tell when you have two rather than just one. We had a German Shepard for 11 years, and he was a great dog, but now with our Golden (Chelsey) and Beagle (Jenna) we see now that they're even more fun in 'packs'! I can't think of too many specific things, but the main thing with our 'girls' is their nightly 'wrestling match' in the middle of our living room on the area rug. It's absolutely hysterical and I'll tell you, pretty cheap entertainment! Chelsey is the dominant one, and Jenna is submissive...yet feisty. So it makes things interesting! They're always so sweet though, if one nips too hard or whatever they comfort each other...then right back to the fight! So much fun. I can think of one thing specifically that Jenna does that's funny...she 'sits pretty' (we never taught her too) and she goes totally rigid...she literally just doesn't move in this position, other than cock her head from side to side. The other thing she does totally makes me think of Jasper the racoon on LHOP...she does the same thing with her paws over her eyes, especially when she wants a treat! So cute! Oh, and I almost forgot! Chelsey does the funniest thing and everyone comments who comes to our house. She's done it since she was just a puppy...she likes to sleep 'propped' up...she'll put her upper body on a chair, and will let her long legs dangle on the floor! It's hard to describe, but MOST dogs would just jump on to the furniture for a good snooze, you know? Not her! She gets into a deep sleep in that position! I've never gotten a picture of it...I'll try to and post it. “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

| Oh, I just remembered another! Opie LOVES to sleep in the hood of my Dad's denim coat. Dad'll drape it over a chair........Opie will climb into the hood and fall asleep. Well, the other day, I was heading downstairs, turned on the hall light........and there was Opie, coming up the stairs............DRAGGING my Dad's denim coat up the stairs behind him!! This is NOT a lightweight coat, either! But he was dragging it upstairs, and apparently, planned to sleep in it that night! :Hahaha: | |
