Ugggg!

Subject: Ugggg! Wed Mar 26, 2008 2:48 pm

I'm an accident waiting to happen! The other night I put on some humming bird food to start to boil. I sat down at the computer, wasn't paying attention and next thing I know the house is starting to fill with smoke. I jumped up and my sugar water was a big, black ball of something indescribable!

So I cooled off the pan, opened up the doors and got it mostly out. Of course this was at midnight.

Funny; neither hubby or the boys said a word about the smell the next day. I know there was one; I smelled it!

And, just a minute ago I got what I thought was tea out of the ice box and sucked down a strawful of hummingbird sugar water I had put in the fridge! Now, for someone that drinks diet... :gross:

LOL!!! I'm sure that was INDESCRIBABLE! Next time I go to the fridge, I'll be sure to look before I take a sip! Laughing

Last year I tried to make snow candy like they did in the LH books. I overheated it and that molasses and sugar mixture smelled so darn gross. And worse, my mother-in-law ate some. It tasted like a piece of charcoal (I had to try a bit) and she said it wasn't too bad. UGH!

Oh no, Misti. I've had plenty of mishaps when cooking and the house filling with smoke. But I wasn't cooking for hummingbirds.

I'm glad you did not set anything in the house on fire. Did the pan survive?

Spring is finally here, the lovely pink blooms on the "spray" tree outside my window are gone leaving a beautiful willow.

If the pan did't survive don't feel bad cause nobody goes through more pans then Savannah Just look at her swinging the frying pan again

Yes, the pan did survive after soaking twice in hot, hot water & Dawn liquid!

The cat what?? Poor dog! Maybe you should pay some attention to him...play ball with him...take him for a walk..give him a bath once in awhile. He'd probably appreciate it! grinsmiley
