| Today, a few miles from where I live, a man was driving along the highway, and hit what he thought was a small deer. (It was still dark) He stopped, because the animal was still lying on the ground, and he didn't want the poor thing suffering. Well......It turned out that it wasn't a deer that he had hit . . . It was a Bobcat! Officials in our area have said for years "There are NO Bobcats in our area. None!" (This was in response to residents who would call to report seeing a Bobcat in their backyard)
Thankfully, the Bobcat wasn't hurt. He was apparently just dazed from the blow. He was groggy enough that people were able to get close enough to him to put a blanket over him. Then, he was checked over, and given a good report. I don't know if he was released, or if he was taken - but he's unhurt. Here's a picture of a Bobcat that looks a lot, in size, like the one discovered here:We don't have NEAR that much green around here right now. LOL!And the officials, who had said that there are absolutely no Bobcats in our area? They said "This is an extremely rare incident. Bobcats are rare in our area. And they're a protected species."

| They tell us the same thing, but my Pop swears he's got two living on his land. He lives right next to the Hoosier National Forest land, so it wouldn't surprise me, and I've never known the man to lie. | |

| Awww, I'm glad the bobcat is okay.
But while I love cats, I don't think I'd want to come across a bobcat!

| When we first moved into our house, there was a bobcat by the garbge cans, which are up next to the house. Then one time, I was playing the piano, and was looking out the front door, and there was a HUGE cat on our front porch. It was either a REALLY big tomcat or a bobcat one! I was like, "MOM!! LOOK!" lol But, she didn't see it. Whatever it was when it saw me it took off. The reason we thought it might be a bobcat, is because our trash cans KEPT getting knocked over, and we didn't think it was a dog, and a regular house cat couldn't knock over cans like we have.....they are huge, and heavy, and were full of trash.
I'll bet a cat like that could tear a person into pieces! ~ Home is the nicest word there is ~
