I had trouble sleeping last week. I had a cup of coffee with a friend - but it must have been too close to bedtime. I was up pretty much all night.

I happened across his website one day, after I had just finished watching Doctor's Lady. It had an e-mail address where he could be reached, so I wrote him, and told him how much I loved him as Dr. Baker, and that I always thought that the end of Doctor's Lady was all wrong.......He was sweet enough to write back, thanked me for my note, and told me not to be too sad, because, while Dr. Baker hadn't gotten the lady at the end of the episode, he had found his lady, and was a truly happy man.... We wrote back and forth for quite a while, until he became ill. He was like that with anyone who wrote him, too. It wasn't an unusual thing at all for him to reply to his fans. He was a genuinely nice person.

The last time I saw a movie was Thursday (I think) and I saw the Masterpiece Theatre presentation of Rebecca. It was wonderful!
