| Well, it certainly wasn't a ripper of an earthquake, but did anyone else feel that early this morning?? It was centered in West Salem Illinois, and I felt it where I live! Quite a surprise! It was a 5.4 on the richter scale. | |

| Didn't feel it up here, Savannah. What was it like? How long did it last?
I wonder if Larry felt it.

I wonder if Larry felt it. It lasted about a minute, maybe two....it stopped for a few seconds and then started up again. But it was very pronounced. It wasn't subtle. LOL - Rhonda if I felt my bed shaking so much with a 5.4 - and being hundreds of miles away from where it was centered, I can't even imagine how much an 8.0 or higher must feel like, dead center of the earthquake! And, I wondered about Larry, too. I've read that if you're on the ground level, you don't feel the shaking quite as much with smaller earthquakes. But if you're on the second story and higher, you feel it more. Interesting.

We have a two-story and I didn't feel a thing...but then again, I could probably sleep through a marching band playing through our house! :haha: “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

| What sad news! A friend of mine, from Costa Rica, told me that they have some little earthquakes in his country. He must evacuate the little village he was working in as an anthropologue... Our old Earth is quite angry with us, I think. Vanesa. | |

| Oh my word.......I forgot that this is the anniversary of the Great San Fransisco earthquake back in 1906! One hundred and two years later to the hour! (Shortly after five in the morning) I'm sure glad that the earthquake this time around wasn't even nearly as powerful! | |

I told you guys I have useless bits of trivia floating around in my brain. Savannah. I actually helped a friend with her school report on the San Francisco earthquake, we found pictures and a bunch of articles of the earthquake. It was pretty interesesting... and scary.

No WAY! Well, I'm glad that you're just fine, anyway. But I thought you'd have REALLY felt it! I'm in southeast Indiana, almost to Kentucky, so I'm farther away than you are.
