I discovered a trail of ants marching into my house. They are all over my kitchen. I've tried sprays and ant bait. I'm not having much luck. Anyone have any suggestions?

Susie,
Did you try the Terro ant bait? That always worked for me, although sometimes it took a few days to fully get rid of them.

I called an exterminator and I haven't seen one since. But it all depends on the type of ants. If they are tiny sugar ants, then traps might do the trick. We had those and carpenter ants, which are a huge concern, so the exterminator was the only option.

Have you considered getting an anteater for a new family pet? They can eat 30,000 of those buggers a day!

When I was growing up, mom always used a combination of Boric Acid and sugar.....here is a site that tells about Boric Acid and then towards the bottom, gives you recipes for getting rid of all kinds of multi-legged critters.

You know, I was gonna suggest laying down a thin layer of lye around the home, but I gotta admit.....that idea has a lot of appeal..... Cool

ETA: Plus, if you have a dead body to dispose of, the leftover lye comes in handy.

Don't ask how I know this.

Also don't ask how my wife is doing.

Yikes! That doesn't sound so great!

Someone told me that if you do a few lines of sidewalk chalk in front of your door, that it will help keep the ants out because they don't like to walk across the chalk.

We have ants bad, too. We had an extermanatior come last week, but no change. It's driving my mom bonkers! Maybe I'll show this topic to her....

Our exterminator told us it might take up to two weeks to see results. He sprayed everywhere and also put foggers in the attic and the basement.
