| My husband and I haven't been on a trip since May of 2006. We leave tomorrow afternoon for NYC. We'll be returning on Friday afternoon. Our children will be staying with my husband's parents while we're gone. My daughter, Emily, turned 5 years old today! We had a party for her and her friends last Saturday. How time flies! It will be nice to get away for a few days. We're going this particular week because we have tickets to see the Twins play the Yankees. Go Twins!! It's kind of a big deal since this is the last year the Yankees will be playing at their stadium. I think that it's been around since 1927. They're building a new stadium across the street. See you all in a few days! | |

| Happy belated birthday to Emily.
Wow, I haven't been to NYC since I was in my 20's. Hope you had a great time. Spring is finally here, the lovely pink blooms on the "spray" tree outside my window are gone leaving a beautiful willow.

| Hello everyone!! My husband and I returned from our trip yesterday afternoon. We had a great time in NYC!! What an amazing and HUGE city! I know that Lily is from the area, but I'm not sure if anyone else on the board is. My husband and I were on the Today Show on Thursday morning. We had Tivo'd it and his parents saw us. We were standing right behind Meredith Viera, Al Roker, and Anne Curry. Matt Lauer was on vacation, so that was a bummer that I couldn't see him in person. It was still fun though to see everyone else. It was nice to get away for a few days. Some friends of ours were there at the same time, staying with an Aunt who lives in a multi-million dollar home in Greenwich Village. We got to see the place on Thursday evening. They live on a very nice street and guess who else lives on their street? Billy Joel, Marisa Tomei, Meryl Streep, Susan Sarandon, and Sarah Jessica Parker lives a couple of blocks away. I was in awe of their whole lifestyle. Such a difference from here in Minneapolis. I love to visit NYC, but I don't think that I could ever live in the heart of the downtown area. I'm much more comfortable in the suburbs. LOL!! It's nice to be back, and I hope that everyone is having a nice weekend!!
Oh, I almost forgot. We also had a great time at Yankee Stadium. Even though the Twins lost, it was still a fun time. The new stadium they are building right across the street looks amazing! It was just fun to see the end of an era. Yankee Stadium has been around since 1923. | |
