What Generation are YOU?

There have been many generations.... which generation do you belong to?

The Silent Generation (1925 to 1945)
It was the generation born between the two World Wars, who were too young to join the service when World War II started. Many had fathers who served in World War I.


The Baby Boomers (1946 - 1964)
They were the generation born just after World War II, a time that included a 14-year increase in birthrate worldwide. Baby Boomers in their teen and college years were characteristically part of the 1960s counterculture, but later became more conservative, eventually gave birth to Generations X and Y. Most academic and demographic literature uses 1946 and 1964 as the cutoff years of the Baby Boom generation.[1]


Generation X (1965 to 1979)
This is the generation born between approximately 1965 to 1980, and connected to the pop culture of the 1980s and 1990s they grew up in. Other names used interchangeably with Generation X are 13th Generation and Baby Busters. Most of this generation are children of The Baby Boomers and The Silent Generation. Those born before 1973 spent most of their teen years in the 1980s.



Generation Y (1980 to 2000)
Generation Y, also known as the Echo Boom and Generation McGuire although Millennials or Internet Generation is becoming the more common parlance for this generation. These are usually the children of Baby Boomers and people in early Gen X. Generation Y grew up with many world-changing events including the rise of mass communication, the Internet, and the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The Y Generation is known as a Culture War "battleground" with growing disagreements between conservative and progressive perspectives.


Generation Z (2001 to Present)
New Silent Generation or Homelander Generation is the youngest of generations thus far. These are the people that are born in the late 1990s and early 2000s and will reach adulthood in the 2010s and enter the workforce around 2015-2020. This group of people are generally thought to be instant minded, as they are born in the world of digital technology and gadgets as opposed to saw it rise as kids or teens like Gen Y.

I'm an "X'er" too, though Hubby is a Baby Boomer!

And, I must admit, "B.J. and the Bear" was one of my favorite tv shows & made me aspire to be a truck driver. Dad & I were going to co-own a rig!

1969 baby!!! Gen X! I'm freaking out though because I didn't realize my hubby is a Baby Boomer! (1963)

Piggy came in a pink car and Gonzo in a trycicle.... they were too cute, I loved the Muppet Babies cartoon!

i'm a genteration 'Y'! 1994!! yay! i'm probably the youngest one on this forum. lol

I think of myself as having my "childhood" in the 90's cuz I like them better and my family was kinda old fashioned and I never even saw a DVD until a couple years ago. lol

I'm Generation X. I was born in 1972.

Generation X here. I am in good company with the fellow Gen Xers!!
