I thought it might be fun to share our hometown newspapers with each other - those papers that have online editions, that is. Mine is the Crawford County Avalanche. Nobody seems to know where the name Avalanche came from. We don't have any mountains to speak of. But the paper's been around since the 1870s, so I doubt we're going to change it now. :shifty:

Sorry, our area is too small to have a newspaper online, but I do work for the local one, the Cow Country Courier.

The larger towns do have them online, though.

Susie, I see there have been "big cat" sightings in Illinois. There have been a lot of those reports up here, too. Personally, I think it's just Opie on steroids.

I read Daily News. Juniper Berry is not a newspaper, it's a magazine published quarterly from the Juniper Park Civic Association, in which I'm a member.

It was very interesting. There were 3 parts to the Lizzie Buehler's murder. Did you also read the part about how the investigation would be handled today? It showed the disadvantages of manpower and technology that they lack of back in 1892. So I can only assume, with setbacks and obstacles that they faced then, many conclusions were drawn prematurely on many other cases, it would not be permitted through today's investigation.

Yeah, I read all three parts. It was fascinating. I'm really enjoying the Juniper Berry Magazine, especially the historical stuff. Thanks for posting it!
