| Today is the 45th anniversary of President Kennedy's assassination. Are there any assassination buffs on the board? Anybody have any conspiracy theories or whatnot? | |

| If it happened after the American Civil War, then I haven't researched it. I have a book about a certain conspiracy theory, but have never read it. Couldn't even tell you what it's about.
Supposedly, my dad guarded Jacquelyn Kennedy in the White House while he was in the service. Who knows, could be another one of his tall tales.

| I just watched JFK starring Kevin Costner (I love Kevin Costner...lol) on TCM tonight and it sure leaves you believing there could have been a cover up. Sorry to say I don't know or have followed up with the details regarding the assination of JFK and I was only 3 when he was killed. I can't wait to see all the media hype in 20 years (2029) when the files can then be opened to the public. I am sure it's going to be a crazy media event.
I am interested in hearing everyone elses theories. This movie that I had just watched leads you to believe there were shots fired from four different locations and some of the grainy footage is chilling. What a sad event in history.

| I love JFK. (The real one) I went to his grave once. It was a very moving experience. To me, I am sad over racial issues that still plague this country. JFK and Martin Luther King Jr., tried their best to segregate all races. It's a shame that we still have that issue in the USA!
I have friends of different races, etc. It has made my life richer.
May JFK rest in peace! |

May JFK rest in peace! i agree with you... i was 10 years old when it happened...i believe that we were let out early and any after school activities were cancelled.. until any one of those conspiracy theories get proven, i am sticking with lee harvey oswald as the shooter...

| Unfortunately, if there were any conspiracies, they'll probably never be proven. Nearly all the principal figures are dead now. Just think, Oswald was only 24 at the time, and he'd be 69 now! | |

| The wackiest conspiracy theory I heard claimed that, in the Zapruder film, you can see the chauffeur of Kennedy's car turning around in his seat and shooting the president. | |

There are some pretty strange twists. Like reports of shots coming from different directions (though acoustics experts say that could just be caused by echoes between buildings). And the "magic bullet" that seemed to change directions as it passed through JFK and Gov. Connally. And the fact that the sketches made of JFK's wounds during the autopsy didn't seem to match photos of the same wounds. Weird.

Oh wow, Lorrie, I didn't know about that. That will be really interesting.
