PostSubject: What a relief!   What a relief! EmptyFri Jan 16, 2009 5:38 pm

On Monday, while supper was baking, the oven died. Just stopped heating! So, my brother, Aaron, and I took to our computers, used google, and tried to find out what the problem could be. We came up with the same problem and solution, so started looking to see if we could find the part on eBay. grinsmiley eBay is my friend. Well, sure enough - there it was! The seller not only sold it to us at a discounted price, they also shipped it out immediately via Priority mail! So, it arrived Thursday night, and this morning we put the part in, and turned on the oven. VOILA!! Cheer Our oven is working again!! (What a relief that it actually WAS the problem. We weren't certain!) Aaron and I decided that it was a good idea to try out the oven by baking a batch of brownies. grinsmiley THAT, of course, is the only reason we baked them: To make sure that the oven was working. batEyes

I'm so thankful for a working oven!!

OH! The eBay seller we bought the part from is actually part of a ministry that supports Pastors and Missionaries in Kenya and Haiti! How cool is THAT! Not only did our oven get fixed, but the money went to help preachers and missionaries spread the gospel. Thumbsup Can't beat that!

Glad it wasn't anything major.........and glad you didn't have to actually purchase a new oven......

Brownies? Did you do any taste tests on them, or were they just for testing the oven? Laughing

Cool that the seller on eBay helps out with missionary work...... Thumbsup

Purchasing a new oven is exactly what we were concerned about. With the bitter cold, and icy roads it would be a terrible time to have to replace it!

Oh . . . the brownies . . . . batEyes Well, I hate waste, so of course, I had to make sure that they were eaten. grinsmiley

That's good news. I'm glad it was something easily taken care of. Now about those brownies....

Isn't google a wonderful thing?? Great job on disecting the problem, you and Aaron should go into business together. If the repair service doesn't pan out for you, you can always fall back on the brownie service.

Now all those brownies... I hope you have pepto bismol in the house or at least a lot of milk. grinsmiley

:Hahaha: Well, I only ate one of the brownies. We had quite a few people stop in. I think it was the smell of the brownies that brought them in. grinsmiley
