A little trip to Boston Empty
PostSubject: A little trip to Boston   A little trip to Boston EmptyThu Feb 19, 2009 11:49 pm

I know this is going to sound stupid, but I would appreciate prayers for a safe and uncomplicated trip into Boston tomorrow. I am taking the girls to see Disney on Ice at the TDBankNorth Garden and I am a nervous wreck. I've been to Boston at least a dozen times, but never without the hubby. We are going to get off in Newton and take the T to the North Station. Then we'll see the show and hopefully be back before suppertime.

I can feel the anxiexty already. I hate driving, I don't like cities, and I'm not overly fond of the subway--though the subway is a better alternative than driving into Boston.

Your prayers are greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the prayers everyone. We had a great time and both the ride up and back were uneventful, so your prayers worked.

I drove into Riverside Station in Newton, we hopped a T there and then transferred to another T to get to North Station where the Garden is. We missed part of Cars because we had to exchange the vouchers for actual tickets, but we saw the Little Mermaid, the Lion King, and Tinkerbell.

It cost $11.00 for a large popcorn and soda--which never ceases to amaze me. Then the Lil Diva--in her most diva form--caught the attention of the vendor selling the $12 bag of cotton candy with a Tinkerbell hat on top, so we shared that. Rode the T back to the car and ate lunch at a rest stop on the Mass Pike before heading all the way home.

It was a good, fun day, but I'm tired and broke. LOL!

It sounds like quite the memorable experience for the girls, Cheryl! I'm glad you had fun! Thumbsup Hey, just wondering---is this $11.00 popcorn combo like a 'movie theater' caliber popcorn here, or are we talking stale popcorn out of a box? Because I'm thinking this sounds like the type of place you get box popcorn, and that would be one heck of an astronomical figure! OhMy

It wasn't a combo. The soda was $6.00 for a plastic souvenir Bruins cup and the largest popcorn they had--which is still smaller than the largest theater popcorn--was $5.00. The popcorn was pretty good, actually. Sometimes you get the bottom of the popper, but they must have made a fresh batch not too soon before we got there.

I think its always these "little trips" that have us praying the hardest.
Glad you had a great day.....

Thanks ladies. Yes, I took some pics, but they were with the old camera and it was dark most of the time, so I don't know how they came out. I'll have to look and if there's anything worth posting I'll upload a couple.

Me, too. And I don't think that's strange at all to ask for prayers for - I myself am I nervous wreck driving anyplace new. I have no sense of direction! LOL. About a year ago, I got lost driving the same way I'd driven for years. So, I can relate, and often pray myself if I'm driving somewhere unfamiliar.
