| I just looked it up online under Entertainment Tonight and watched a preview for tonight's episode. It said that she has a "tell-all" book and mentioned Michael Landon's drinking, (which is no secret), and a possible secret pregnancy with Rob Lowe. (They used to date many, many years ago.) I guess we'll see. | |

Are we ready for this??? I have my DVR set lol I hope the kids who get read her book are prepared to realize that ..... What I mean to say is that they might find it a little shocking when they see that Shannon Doherty (who played Jenny) had a one night stand w/ Melissa's husband at the time. I know of what they read (Mike's drinking... her drinking) will have some affect to how they see the show. About her secret pregnancy... I read that Rob had proposed to her... and then she found out she was pregnant. Rob then said he was not ready to be a father or husband... Melissa lost the baby.

| I did see ET tonight. I think Melissa just wants her story out...all of it. She felt that she has been through alot and who knows if it might help someone else in the future. When all is said and done...I hope she knows she touched many lives with her way of giving alot of us the "first face" of Laura. I think she has become a remarkable woman, wife and mom . What matters most is that she has become better for having gone through what she has..... In my opinion she is still someone that I adore as an actress and I hope she never stops working. She has SO much to offer with each story she brings us. I wish her much health, and happiness. It is the lack of Christianity that has brought us where we are. Not a lack of churches or religious forms but of the real thing in our hearts. LIW.....Words From a Fearless Heart | |

Okay, wait a minute.....You don't mean that this happened at the time of Little House: A New Beginning, do you? Because if that's the case it's hardly a "one night stand". It would be child abuse at best.
You know....whenever I hear the term "tell all book" I can't help but think of Proverbs 29:11 "A fool uttereth all his mind...."
And it never fails to amaze me when actors are so willing to air their dirty laundry (and everyone else's) for everyone to see. I'm way too private for that. For real! I am guessing that the Shannen doherty thing happened later than that. Are we talking about "Bo" here? Melissa married him well after the series, I think, so Shannen would have been older. However, I'm not sure how MUCH older. And I agree with you Savannah....a 'tell all' book, at this point? Is she hurting for money or something?! I don't know what causes a celebrity to 'come out' with stuff after so many years. With Allison Arngrim, that made sense because it was a healing process for her and she indeed was helping others through the reveal. But I have NO idea what Melissa talked about tonight....I missed it (because we had to go to my son's boooooooring 8th grade grauduation. Ahem, I know that's sad but good grief, it's EIGHTH grade! I don't remember getting recognized for it! )....anywho... Gin, what exactly did Melissa talk about? What was it that she actually 'revealed'? It bothers me to think she's speaking about Michael Landon's drinking or whatever...she was one of the ones who was P.O'd with Michael Landon Jr. for throwing ML Sr. under the bus with his TV movie after his father's death. So what gives? If she's dishing about HERSELF, then by all means, dish away if she's so inclined. But if she's dishing about other people, I have a big problem with it. “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

| The book talks about the miscarriage she had when she was pregnant with Rob Lowe's baby. On ET, they didn't show her in any recent interviews, just a couple from the past. It talked about how Michael Landon would have vodka in his coffee cup while on the set, and then how Melissa had a drinking problem later in life. She's been sober now for 4 years. Shannen Doherty wasn't very old on LHOTP, so I'm sure that the incident happened way after the show. Was Melissa even married yet during the 9th season? Shannen was pretty young. | |

- I stand corrected. I guess Shannen was 17, almost 18, when she had the affair with Melissa's husband.
http://www.celebitchy.com/52226/melissa_gilbert_accuses_shannen_doherty_of_cheating_with_her_first_husband/ WHOA. Um, I'm guessing there's no love loss between Melissa and Shannen. - Misti wrote:

- I'm on the fence about Melissa's book. The writer in me understands the cathartic power of putting down on paper the things that have happened in your past. It allows you to sit back and look at them for what they truly are--past events that have shaped you but may not be who you are today.
On the other hand, there are things I don't know if I could ever share with someone and definitely not with the world and a legion of fans who grew up watching me on TV. People in the entertainment industry seem to struggle with many demons, so I certainly didn't expect that Melissa led a perfect life, but there are just some things I feel better off not knowing, which is why I haven't ordered Melissa's book.
When she was president of SAG, I believe she was asked if she would ever run for public office. If I remember right, she said she would wait until her children were older and could handle the things said about her. Perhaps this is a stepping stone for her to get it all out so that no surprises come up later. Hmm, you have a very good point about the public office thing, in which case this is good---air all the dirty laundry before it comes out against her will. I feel the same way, about not really wanting to know it all though....I have a feeling though, the curious fan that I am won't be able to resist this. “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

| I don't think that there's much of a love loss between Shannen Doherty and anyone. LOL!! She doesn't seem like a very nice person. I've just heard things about her over the years. She's got some issues, that's for sure. | |

That's true, but just because you put it down on paper doesn't mean it has to be published. I'm living proof of that.

That's true, but just because you put it down on paper doesn't mean it has to be published. I'm living proof of that. Yeah, but we're not celebrities. No one cares about my life but me. As for you not being published, it just hasn't happened yet....but it will. Keep the faith!

- But it really is unnecessary for her to name lots of names and expose their poor judgement and wrong choices as well as her own. It just seems awfully tacky to me.
For me it depends upon on how she does it. If she's talking about it in the context of how it impacted her own life, that's one thing. If she just does it to share secrets and get people to buy her book then that's another.
