I took to college coures online..."Teacher's aide" & ECE.

I had a job interview this week i got a call back saying i did't get the job..The lady said i do have lots of expernices with kids..Then she goes and say's i should go back to school and take ECE..But i already took ECE...So iam confused Will i not get a job cuz i did't go to the real college and take the clourse..The clourse i took is taken from the real course u would take in the college..The only thing from being online you don't get placed in a "daycare" for place-meant..(I have lots of expermeant from church)

I mean i don't think i should have to go an re-take the clourse and spent all that money again..

Has any one of you guy's taken a class online? did u get you're job?

Did you explain to the woman that you had already taken the Early Childhood Education course? You could try contacting the college that took it through, and ask them whether you had received credit for the class. They may be able to explain things a little better.

Also....Try not to take it personally that you didn't get the job. Smiley Hug There are so many people looking for jobs right now....it makes it very difficult to find one. Don't give up! Thumbsup

Very true, Savannah. It's tough out there, in the childcare business as well. I know two people who were let go from preschool teacher positions.

I can't get a job unless I know someone somewhere. That's how I got most of my jobs. So you are not the only one Krissy. Getting a job is extremely hard in this world today. No I think employers look for TOO much these days. That's just my thought.

Sometimes, employers want you to have training from an accredited institution that they are familiar with. I would ask future employers what training they expect applicants to have and if they will accept your training from the online program.

I agree with Savannah...its a tough market out there....but I'm sure you will find something soon! :-)

As long as it's an accredited online college then there shouldn't be a problem. My wife is a pre-school teacher and alot of her fellow teachers have taken ECE classes online. Many people are going the online college route these days.
