| I'm sure some of you have heard about this before, but it's such an interesting story! Board games were allowed into prison camps to be given to POWs during WWII.....so someone came up with the brilliant idea of tucking in little items that could be used to help the prisoners escape - like a map printed on silk or rayon....a compass, etc....So, inside the Monopoly board - and other games, too - the manufacturers made secret compartments, and hid those things inside them. I'm still working through a migraine, so I know I'm not explaining it very well.....but here's a link that tells the story a little better:The Story | |
