Yes, I am talking about the famous song from the movie "A Nightmare on Elm Street".
Who saw these movies in the 80s? I think I saw almost all of them! Well... it looks like the movie has been remade. Check out the trailer for the new remake of "A Nightmare on Elm Street" .

Yep, the first one totally freaked me out. I've learned my lesson since then that I can't watch horror flicks!

No horror flicks for me thanks. I saw the part of Cujo where he traps them in the car, and didn't like big dogs for months after that.
Oh, and Hellraiser, saw a few of those in my younger years too. Yuck!

I don't like horror movies! I watched The Blob and The Birds in middle school and those were scary enough

Interestingly enough, Jackie Earle Haley is playing Freddy this time around. Jackie was also in "Watchmen" and a show from long ago, "The Bad News Bears."

I'm glad I could be of service!
In the 80s I was very much into horror movies, I saw quite a bit of them. Now, I don't watch them, but I do still love some classics like The Birds, Psycho, Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street. One time, during Halloween week (in the 80s), for the first time I saw some really scary movies the left me freaked out. They were The Omen, Salem's Lot, we also watched The Exorcist that week... I remember being really scared by that one, I remember shutting my eyes and covering my ears... what where my parents and other adults in my family thinking letting us kids watch those movies?! hahaha
I don't like movies like Saw or where things get too gory..... I like more the suspense then watching actual bloody scenes lol

You watched a Glenn Ford movie this week, didn't you, Fife? Now you're gonna be Glenn Ford-ing it all over town.
Edited to add: I'm sure that it doesn't surprise any of you that I'm not much of a fan of horror flicks. The closest I've come to watching one was when I watched the original Psycho. I prefer understated terror.

Yes, but that's got nothing to do with it!
Horror films... The Exorcist probably tops my list as scariest. Amityville Horror was pretty scary, too. And I thought Nightmare on Elm Street had a really neat premise.
Oh! How about The Blair Witch Project? Did anyone like that one?

Rob, I would have to agree with you. The Exorcist ranks up there as THE scariest one of all time for me. I was really young when I saw Amityville, (I remember I was babysitting and watched it on their HBO when I was like 13...too young for horror flicks!), so that one resonates with me as being extremely scary. The other one I remember freaking me out was Damien. Scary evil children totally creep me out. Um that reminds me of Children of the Corn. YIKES!
Oh, and of course, then there's The Shining. VERY scary, but that is one I really really liked. It was on not too long ago on regular TV (all chopped up), and I still had to have Bill come to bed with me---no way was I going to go up the stairs by myself!

Yes. The Shining was on TV one time when I had some friends over, they were younger than me, never heard of the Shining.. but they got scared! lol
You can tell that movie will be scary by listening to the opening music

I didn't understand the ending. It's been awhile since I've seen it, but could someone please explain how they thought it ended? I remember the one guy going into a room in hopes of finding his friend, but then they kind of leave you hanging. Are we supposed to believe that his friend is dead?
