eBay Listings

Terry does a lot of listings on eBay and has listed 3 of my dolls. They are composition dolls and are from the 1920's. I hope they sell well.....

One thing about these dolls... they are collectors items so make sure that they don't go for the first bid.

I noticed Terry put the following in the description:

ESTIMATED FAIR MARKET VALUE FOR THIS ITEM
Based on seller's experience, web research, past sales, etc. seller estimates the Fair Market Value of this item to be in excess of $50.00
However, STARTING BID is only....$ 9.99

When you list Items, there is a section where you put a reserve price.... for example in this case, the $50 dollar amount would be put there. When the item is listed... even though people bid on it... there will be a label stating: "Reserve Not Met" and it will stay there until you have enough bids to cover the reserve price. Here is more info about it:

Reserve Price Auctions
Some sellers have a reserve price on their item. A reserve price is the minimum price a seller is willing to accept for the item. The seller is not obligated to sell the item if the reserve price is not met.

As a buyer you are not shown the reserve price, only whether the reserve has been met. (The bid history page also shows a notation when the reserve price is met.) Bid on the item as usual by entering the maximum amount you're willing to pay. If the amount you bid does not meet or exceed the reserve price, a “Reserve not met” message is displayed. Otherwise, your bid is displayed as the current bid. When the auction closes, the item will sell to the highest bidder who meets or exceeds the reserve price.

Example: The following picture illustrates a reserve price listing. Although the item has received a bid (arrow B) the bid did not reach the seller’s reserve price (arrow A). The seller is not obligated to sell the item unless a bidder meets or exceeds the reserve price. Therefore, no successful bid has been made.

So anyway, I just wanted to point that out... because you don't want the dolls going to the first bidder with a low price.

Well I just saw his positive feedback count... a lot higher than mine lol ... so I think maybe he is right Rhonda. Maybe it would turn buyers away.

I can see his point... ya learn something new every day. Hopefully they will sell with a good price

Ummmm.....yes, I do Amy......I have over 3,000 dolls.....

Some I will keep however......the majority will need to be sold.....I could go ahead and display some of them in the doll room.......
