| Believe it or not Rob, it HAS!! At first I thought it was just us 'getting used to it', but everyone else says they can't smell it anymore either. Thankfully it didn't last as long as a lot of other people online have said! Hopefully the skunk doesn't make a return visit though---I really don't think Jenna is smart enough to avoid it! | |

| Many years ago I had a collie, and whenever she had to go out during the night, I'd just throw the door open and let her run. One night she wanted to go out, and for some reason I kept the screen door closed and turned the porchlight on first. I'm glad I did, because there were seven skunks out there, feeding on sunflower seeds. | |

- I'm really glad that you aren't having to deal with that smell anymore, Amy. Maybe you can do some training with Jenna. Showing her a picture of the skunk, you tell her: "See THIS? This is a NO. NO, NO, NO."
Flash cards!! What a brilliant idea! - Rob wrote:

Wow, that was lucky!! (By the way, I've always loved Collies! But can you imagine washing all that hair several times in a row, like I had to do with Jenna?! At least I can be thankful that she has short hair!). - Vanesa wrote:

Vanesa. Thanks Vanesa. And I'm thinking, I'm thinking! That must have been quite the little Casanova skunk that Rob had out there....just call him Pepe' Le Pew!

| I don't know how I missed this, but your poor dog, Amy. I'm glad you were able to get rid of the odor. I'm sure she was glad too! Icky, Savannah. I hate the smell of skunk and I've only ever smelled it passing up roadkill on the expressway. Of course I may have jinxed myself now by saying that. I hope the smell goes away soon. | |

| I remember laying in bed and being awakened by the same smell! Its is something you just don't forget. I thought the critter was in the bed with me!! | 13 months later, I'm back again with another skunk post. But this time, it's not just Jenna, the Beagle. My dog Chelsey got it too! Not quite as bad as Jenna, but still pretty bad. Is there any kind of 'slightly skunked' anyway??? Today I had such a great day, and went to my walking class, came home and cleaned and took a shower...thinking about what a nice day it was. About an hour ago my hubby let the dogs out for their final potty trip in the backyard, and that's when it happened. And Chelsey's hip was bothering her today---I think she jumped off the deck funny or something, so I am just SICK that she has to spend the night in the garage. My poor babies!!! Now my day is going to consist tomorrow of bathing, bathing, and more bathing. They're covered in "Nature's Miracle", which worked great on Jenna last year, but I have no doubt they're in for several more 'treatments'. This time, however, I was able to act fast. They say time is of the essence, so I ran out there with the bottle of Nature's Miracle and dosed Chelsey first, since SHE came right to us. Jenna was still out there investigating. I swear this dog has rocks in her head!! She did come to us though and I rinsed her with the stuff...it has to dry completely before the stench is even 'touched', so right now they're both pretty pungent, and our garage will be for some time to come too. At least the house won't be as bad as the last time---while I was cleaning the dogs on the deck, my hubby and boys ran around the house shutting up all the windows and turning the A/C on. Ugh, not fun!!!! | |

| Wow, Amy what a Skunk story from last year & yesterday.
I remember one year. I was a teenager. It was pass midnight. A skunk & other animal (I think it was other wild animal.) was fighting outside. So, the skunk sprayed our apartment. (Near by my parents bedroom.) Boy, did it stunk up our apartment. My parents were busy getting the awful smell off the walls. inside & outside. We pack our suitcase & spend the night at the nearest hotel. For like few days. Until the smell, subside. But, you could still smell it, took long time for the smell go away. Fun part, was spending at the hotel for days. We had free breakfast, went swimming, went shopping & had fun.
