With just ONE day to go in the matching phase, a venue contacted me and offered to host my painting in ArtPrize this fall!! After tomorrow, nobody can match up with a venue - so I had pretty much resigned myself to the idea that I wasn't going to be able to exhibit in ArtPrize after all. I'd received two dozen emails from venues (whom I'd contacted) saying that they thought I was very talented, but that I just wasn't "edgy" enough for them. (And I have to admit that it's true that I'm not. The only time I'm edgy is when I've misspelled a word and I'm trying to edit before Fife can see it. batEyes

)

I had such an adventure just trying to print off and email in the signed hosting agreement! I had to leave the house by 10:00 and by 9:30 the computer was still frozen and the printer wouldn't work! It's official!! 279394

At 9:45 a rep from the power company stopped by and told me that they'd be shutting off my power for two hours so they could change lines over. I *almost* decided just to send the papers in when I got home from work, but the power rep said they'd wait a half hour so I could get it sent in. I'm SOOOOO glad that I didn't wait! When I got home for lunch, I decided to quickly check my emails, and when I did, I had a note saying that I had one more step to do before I was OFFICIALLY in, and if it wasn't taken care of by 5:00 today - Michigan time - that I wouldn't be allowed to have my painting in. If I hadn't checked the email till I got home from work, it would have been too late! It's official!! 776960
