| It seems like a good idea to me. Lord knows I wouldn't want Barney Fife watching my kids!! "Willie, were you or were you not looking at the corsett ads in the catalogue?" - Nels

| Fife wouldn't want to babysit. Most of the kids probably outweigh him. | |

| There are different guidelines here. You can be an assistant without any type of certification, but by the year 2013, you have to have a CDA (Child Development Accreditation) to work in a child care facility. Right now you just have to have a high school diploma to work as an assistant. Then there are different levels of requirements for Lead Teachers or other childcare workers. Such as a teacher who works with infants or toddlers has to have at least 3 college credits in an infant and toddler class. Other positions you have to have either an Early Childhood degree, or so many college credit hours along with so many hours of experience working in the field. These are state of Michigan guidelines. It varies state to state here. I just earned my associates in Early Childhood last May and they drilled this stuff into our head. | |
