Curly top?

A couple of days ago, I took my aunt to a farmers' market, and while we were there, we saw an adorable little girl who was about three or so. She looked like a red-haired Shirley Temple, and had beautiful long curls. She had the cutest little dimples, too! My aunt and I mentioned to her mom what a cutie the little girl was, and the mom didn't seem very happy that we'd complimented the little girl. I thought that was rather odd, but I have known people who didn't like to have their little girl complimented too much for fear that she'd become vain - so I figured maybe that was it. Well....then I happened to hear the woman call the little girl, "Bubba" and I thought, "Oh my word! I can't imagine giving that beautiful little girl such a nickname!" A few minutes later, I heard someone else tell her what a beautiful little girl she had, and the woman didn't reply - she just took the little one's hand, and said "Come on, Benjamin. Time to go home."

I guess I need to be a liiiiiiittle more careful about the compliments I give. But seriously, I hope she lets the little fella get his hair cut before he starts school. He really DID look like a little girl.

A friend of mine, when a toddler, was always mistok for a girl, since his mother used to allow his hair to grew overmuch, and he used to get angry for it...Until he grew up and he cut his hair. LOL!

I'm sure that mom must hear it all the time. Yes, she should either cut his hair or make sure she dresses him so there is no question he's a boy.

HOW FUNNY!!! I have to say, ALL three of my boys were the cutest things, and had I let their hair grow out, they would've been thought to be little girls as well......

Exactly!!! As a mom of boys, it really kind of irks me when I see little boys with longer hair, like it's 'cool' or something. When they're middle school, well that's a different story, but I just don't get these parents who have their little boys wearing long hair!
